Fleshdoll is a new combo that comes from my hometown Toulouse, and this time this is not a new Gothic or Progressive combo but a real Death Metal band. Their music is fast, aggressive and Brutal and will probably please all the ones who love real Death and are bored by the numerous Gothenburg and others melodic Death Metal bands. If Freshdoll doesn't begin in the scene something extremely original, their first release "W.O.A.R.G" is extremely promising?

With Fleshdoll, you can expect 37 minutes of classic Death Metal. For sure you'll be able to find some real sharpy riffs, some thundering rhythms produced by the bass and the drums and of course some pure "cadaveric" strong vocals. It's classic yes but I must congratulate the band for its performance. The album is maybe a bit short with only 37 minuets of music and only heights songs but the compositions are robust and their musical structures are intelligent in my opinion. The band follows a classic Death Metal organisation and the numerous breaks in the rhythm are nice. However I have to admit that I regret the lack of real Death Metal soli. All the instruments have a big sound and there is nothing to say on the performance of the musicians but Death without solo? it's a bit weird for me?

The only real problem of this album actually is its classicism. So ok on a side it's pleasant to see that some young bands still want to do real Death, (and when I'm talking about Death I'm not talking about noise) but it's classic as hell and it's obvious that Freshdoll didn't take any risk with their first release. It's just extremely conventional. But just remember that it is a first album and its quality is damn encouraging for the future of the band. I'm sure that with a bit of maturity our guys will be able to add their own personal touches on their next release and it will probably be a lot more surprising.

For a first album, "W.O.A.R.G" is a good surprise. Of course, as you already know, it's a bit classic and not so new but it's promising and we will probably hear some good things about this band soon. After all nowadays in France, Benighted or Christendom are trendy? so why not Fleshdoll now?
