This is the first Demo I hear with such a clean production, it almost sounds as this was a debut full-length; kudos for the guys who recorded, mixed and mastered this demo, it makes this experience very enjoyable? Now onto the music.

Lacerater is a Brutal Death Metal band with a lot of catchy riffs and many hooks - they sound a little like Deeds Of Flesh but with a more thick and interesting sound instead of the usual canned blast-beat. So yes, the music is quite remarkable, it isn't intensely original and it won't screw with your mind, but it's actually a very cool thing to hear a newcomer who sounds better than many elders in the genre.

Now to a more uncomfortable situation: sadly the vocals almost killed the entire experience. While the music is always fun and dynamic, the vocal-work always comes in the same scheme and it bores the listener after the first 10 minutes. My recommendation to the band would be to either change the vocal range or to add mild effects in there, because as far as I hear the vocalist sounds like an amateur compared to the whole ensemble.

So, in the end this band seems to be going somewhere. This is just a Demo so you can't expect to hear unthinkable arrangements or technical approaches ala Suffocation, but it did create an interest in my ears and I will surely keep my eyes on this band from now on.
