Now here's a title that - fortunately - doesn't live up to its name. A physicist I am not, but the sound waves Nolentia are producing are hardly to be called noise. Quality noise at the very minimum. Also, this isn't exactly the kind of quality noise that's just gone without a trace. These are the kind of songs that will stick into your brain for days like a distracted surgeon's scalpel. The kind of evil-mastermind-songs that are so intense, catchy and vile, you need to wash the dirt off after listening... only to find yourself humming the same melodies in the shower (tension building).

Don't let the playful cover art distract you, Nolentia aren't as harmless as they seem. Sure in an earlier review (for the Sell Your Soul To Grind'n Roll! demo) I described them as the most radio friendly grindcore band among grindcore bands, but the masters of deceit seemingly changed gear too. The band ostensibly pulled out all the stops on this one; borrowing influences from sludge, crust and death 'n' roll, the band is not just focusing on grindcore alone. Nolentia's debut album is a blend of putrid, verminous and loathsome music peppered with schizophrenic tempo changes. In other words, the outcome is just insanely terrific. What is blasting through your speakers is a quite unusual sound that on times borders to the unsettling. The kind of soothing yet ear discharging torture music that will make you cry until your eyes bleed. Smooth and terrible, like a madman's lullaby.

Hold me. Corrupt me. Crush me. Ear rape me.

...One Loud Noise And It's Gone runs you over like a speed train... and it does so without a hitch. I'll have you know that Nolentia is a talented collective, fully living up to their potential. Brutal, listenable and addictive. A never tiring powerhouse performance pleasingly grabbing you by the balls, that's what this is.

Mostly well-written review, apart from the line reminiscent of Nirvana Seems like a band I need to check out quite soon

Actually is should be reminiscent of the U2 single "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me".
