I'm glad someone else recognises the death metal in the band, despite being no vocals. Most people don't get that ;]

Great technical metal but hardly any death metal at all in it. And that doesn't have to do with the lack of vocals

You just rendered a whole heap of tech death bands "technical metal" as most modern tech death bands don't have much "death metal" in them aside from growls - congrats Marcel

and so-called mdern tech death bands aren't death metal at all, no matter if they use growls or not. The music isn't dm at its base hence NOT dm in any whatever way
