Blastfest 2017 is facing some controversy. The Norwegian fest will take place next February in Bergen but some of the bands announced so far will not be performing after all. One of them is French black metal band Peste Noire, who have been removed off the bill by the organizers due to antifascist groups pressures. The Finns Horna have also dropped off the bill in solidarity with Peste Noire.

The Swiss avantgarde black metallers Schammasch have premiered online the first video off Triangle, their newest triple album released by Prosthetic Records. Two important news updates from Vulture Industries! The Norwegian avantgardists have been working on the follow-up to The Tower, their last album released back in 2013. The good news is that they are currently in the pre-production stage and will start recording their next album this November. The band has also announced a string of shows in Central and Eastern Europe under the heading The Tower Falls Tour.
Back in 2014, Candlemass bassist and songwriter Leif Edling announced his new band called The Doomsday Kingdom. Now, there are two important updates regarding this new project. Firstly, The Doomsday Kingdom will play their first show at Roadburn 2017 on Sunday, April 23rd, at Het Patronaat. Working with vocalist Niklas Stålvind when not handling those duties himself, Edling now presents the Never Machine EP to drop on November 25th via Nuclear Blast.
