What? A retro-70's style Doom band with a "mysterious" female vocalist? Crank the hype machine to 11!

Apparently there was much ado about this band for the reasons listed above. At least in some circles that I, being sequestered to the desert of the American southwest, am not particularly privy to or a part of, but there was, apparently, a ton of hype for Jex Thoth.

Kinda good but many of the songs are just forgettable IMO. I think the second album is superior in this aspect; it has more quality songs that you wanna listen again. "Separated At Birth" and "The Damned And Divine" * these work for me but the rest of em are pretty much mediocre songs. It's not bad though, I actually like this sound much like SubRosa's debut (which I think sounds similar to this), but these two albums seem to be the same qualitywise: mostly average with a couple of better tracks.

* TBH this whole "Equinox Suite" is pretty good, but only this last part I consider as great.

But wasnt this a bit heavier? The last one goes too much pop in my ears even though its good.

Sure, heavier and clearly more doom too. I don't mind the change in their sound/genres if it means some kind of improvement, and in this case I think as in better song writing.
