Wow, the fuck did I just listen to? I wonder how weird it felt for fans that followed Ulver from the start and then got this album just after Nattens Madrigal.

Not for me.

Check out Perdition City, one of their finest electronic albums. Perfect grey urban atmosphere with a ganster twist and there's some insanely sexy saxophone here and there. I wouldn't give it a ten but the dude who reviewed that album here did a fantastic job describing the feeling of that record.

Loving this album so far, it's quite perplexing and unusual to say the least but it sounds really awesome.

Ordinary men hate solitude. But the Master makes use of it, embracing his aloneness, realizing he is one with the whole universe (Lao Tzu).

It was too ambitious for their own good. Their take on electronica was simply too immature if you ask me. There are some great passages here and there but it just goes around aimlessly a tad too much. The vocals are also a bit too tramatic at times for my taste. If this was condensced into a 45 min record of all the juicy parts then we'd have a great album. I wanted to get into this album more due to the Blake lyrical content which I'm intrigued. I'll try to revisit this album a couple of more times to fully digest it (and properly read the plates along the music, right now I do not have the patience and there was A LOT to read).
