Portugal is the synonym of steady quality and rising quantity when it comes to doom metal, this time I'm in the wonderful position to announce the debut album of a newcomer in the scene after a split with Insaniae, the name of the band is Mourning Lenore and the title of their first attempt in the doom/death metal Golgotha is Loosely Bounded Infinities. In one hand the cover artwork is expressive and bleak, presenting a barren landscape slowly drowning in mist. On the other hand, the music ground upon which the band chooses to wander is quite fertile and they owe this to their inspiration that unfolds with a sorrowful grandeur.

Rating: 9 Another example of the exquisite DOOM played in the little but rich Portugal.

I love this album! It's amazing melodic death doom, reminds me of Daylight Dies and Swallow The Sun, yet still original.

Rating: 8 It is very good but I was expecting more

Unfortunately, it appears that Mourning Lenore will give one of his last concerts, the singer came out, it is likely that the band will end

What do you mean the singer came out?

As for them stopping, weird, I haven't a thing about it. And they have found a management as well (Insania Events)

Lead singer / guitarist of the band left, it is unclear whether they will continue but it looks that way

I didn't even notice it was something from the band

Have you seen them live? I'm just lucky my local fest this years has so many interesting Portuguese bands, including Ava Inferi.

Never. I don't think they have played outside of Portugal (yet?) and since I have never been to Portgal... well, you can do the math
