I bought it on impulse, because I found a used copy for 7,50 ?. It sounds pretty good on first listen, but nothing mindblowing. It's mostly traditional doom with smoky, groovy riffs. But I think they're at their strongest when they venture into slightly more epic territory such as in Day of Farewell and Castle of the Devil.

if you prefer those two more epic then you should check out their two previous albums which are more epic heavy metal than traditional doom (in the vein of St. Vitus) their albums before Conqueror are in the vein of The Wretch, so more straight up St. Vitus like doom.
