No need to present Mr Tony Iommi and his acolyte Glen Hughes, right? Should I have to do that really? No, I don't think so and I suppose that a lot of you already know his precedents solo albums. But today, we're not here to talk about the past but the present and the present of Iommi is a new album, "Fused," a must for the fans of Hard FM?

I just feel that it's lacking Iommi's creative songwriting. Too reliant on power chords and lacks memorability (none of the songs stood out to me). Glenn Hughes is an ok vocalist IMO, nothing special, just ok. The actual album itself isn't bad (thus the 7 rating), but it just sounds a bit uninspired to warrant an 8+ IMO.

Not a bad album overall, but I don't believe it's Iommi's best, and I certainly don't believe it would ever have been good enough to be a Black Sabbath album, there are a few too many mediocre tracks, with nothing that really stood out for me, and I can't say that I'm keen on the vocals on this one either.

Sad to see such a negative comment. I love both Iommi and Hughes here, great work. Glenn Hughes is one of my favorite vocalists.

Sad to see such a negative comment. I love both Iommi and Hughes here, great work. Glenn Hughes is one of my favorite vocalists.

I liked their previous two albums, but for some reason I haven't quite taken to this one, I will try and give it a few more spins and see if it will warm to me.

Edit:

I've managed a few more spins, and I admit I've warmed to this album more now. The vocals never really clicked with me at first, I think it's because I could hear a significant difference in his vocal style from the two previous Iommi albums, and from his time with Black Sabbath, his vocals weren't exactly that bad though, so I guess I expected him to sound like he did from his previous albums, I've also noticed some of Iommi's best riffs are throughout this album at times.

"Resolution Song", "The Spell", "Grace", and "Deep Inside A Shell", are tracks that I have warned to, and stood out for me most.
