Honestly, I want to listen to this JUST because of the cover.

I have to say that i do like this new track 'We Sold Our Souls To Metal' it is not a masterpiece but still a good song, looking forward to a new album!
And I see the blade fall down upon the head of lord in heaven
And Darkness falls upon the end of history
While I drink the milk of the Black Goddess and cry over the mankind

Black Moses is my name...

I surprisingly found myself enjoying this album quite a bit. As a whole this is a solid record with some great groovy riffage. "Archangel" is a monumental track and I love the main riff throughout. "Ishtar Rising," "Shamash," and "Bethlehem's Blood" really sold the album for me. The experience ends with "Soulfly X", the obligatory instrumental jam track but with an Eastern flavor.

Heavy, catchy riffs, and enough variety in the instrumentation to keep me interested. Good stuff.

I'm gonna sit on an 8/10 for this album, I enjoyed it about the same as Savages. I feel it would help this band if they waited a little longer between releases.

Good album 8/10 !

In my opinion best Soulfly albums are I, "Dark Ages" & "Enslaved", weakest "Primitive"& "Omen".
Last is a good one, has a lot of fresh ideas.

Some good stuff but the songs are not enough ambitious. If you take all the good things from this album to make a one-song-medley it will be a great 5 minutes-song. Max and his team will never stop having good ideas and producing albums but I realy don't know why I keep listening these guys from Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy. It's no longer exciting...

I don't know how I feel about this album, honestly. We sold our souls to Metal is the only track I kinda like, because it's obvious that one was written to be a catchy, groovy, "let's go crazy" type of live Soulfly anthem. Sodomites seems to be a B-side track from the Chaos A.D. Sepultura era, with a generic, thrashy fast part and solo. There are some good moments on this album, but Max seems to be out of musical ideas. The album drags on and on until Deceiver, in which I like the ending riff. This one is followed by its own copy-paste as song structure, Mother of Dragons. I can't find anything special on Archangel.

The only thing remarkable about this album is its cover.

As for the music: same generic, uninspired stuff. Mediocre, at best.
