It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

In the Autumn of 2008, CHAOS IN PARADISE started taking their first steps in a small garage in Oporto suburbs, where Alex and Quik began to outline the identity of the band.
After a few days, they started searching for other musicians to complete CHAOS IN PARADISE and after a while they found Pedro for guitar, 19 for bass and Sara for the vocal parts.
With the band as a whole, the quintet began writing their first Demo which came out in February 2010, including the songs "Dawn", "Heading North", "The Meaning of Being Imposed" and "Antagonized".
The band recorded the Demo at their own studio and released and distributed the four songs online for free!
After, CHAOS IN PARADISE began their live shows through Portugal, to promote their work and also to obtain experience as a band.
In the beginning of 2011, the band returned to the rehearsal room to start writing their following work, trying a new aproach to improve their sound, bringing their own identity to it and making it more coherent.
With the pre-production on the bagage, the recording sessions of the EP started in March 2011 at Soundvision Studios in Vila do Conde with Paulo Lopes in the co-production.
From the EP entitled "Let the Bliss Remain" the band released their first single "Awareness" to the fans and press, aquiring unanimous opinions expressing that their evolution and sound quality had a huge improvement.
With the "Let the Bliss Remain" presentation and release in June 2011, CHAOS IN PARADISE came back to the road to promote their EP in Portugal, having already some International shows in mind.
At the moment, they're planning to edit their first album in 2012.

Needs at least one full length.

Ugh those weak screams...a better vocalist would be a huge improvement.

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1
27.03.2014 - Mehdi Taba
Great band with a great album (Lingua Franca), Terrazas, Reyes, Abasi & Moore, fresh sound, awesome performance and production with awesome drum works.

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.
25.07.2013 - LeKiwi
I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...
15.08.2014 - elt
very good...I also listened to a preview of their third album, really nice ...

Ace Of Hearts is a "supergroup" with members of Secret Sphere, Icon & the Black Roses and Odd Dimension, his debut album "Monster" is a MUST for the fans of the genre!
31.07.2011 - patrickmetal12
Because this band will blow your mind. its like Amon Amarth but with clean-ish vocals. The vocalist makes the band... majestic. After only watching their official video, i immediately fell in love with their style. If you like Amon, Ensiferum, Enslaved, and fucking awesome vocals, this band is for you!! \m/

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays?
....uhhhh, which planet are you living on?

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Saw this band live yesterday and thought: why the hell had I not heard of them before? Skein was founded in 2004, but apparently they started to actively tour Finland only around 2012. They're a true underground gem because they're not even on Metal Archives, but their debut album Of Wings Unfolding is some good shit! They offer it as a free download under the Creative Commons license.
31.08.2014 - Lampion
One the most important bands of Death Metal In Portugal. I like the album "Anguish...I Harvest". They have released 4 studio albuns so they are some experience and had performance at the same stage with big bands...
07.09.2014 - Njord
I'm not a fan but they deserve to be at MS

Residing in Hollywood, CA and formed in 2011, Perceptionist is a refreshing take on progressive metal that is reminiscent of bands like Between the Buried and Me, Animals as Leaders, and The Human Abstract. The band features Jordan Nalley on vocals, Riley Brodersen and Abe Freshwater on guitars, Connor Coram on bass, and Edoardo Talenti on drums.
Perceptionist formed when Edoardo and Lenny, two long time friends and bandmates, moved to Los Angeles from Bologna, Italy to attend the prestigious Musicians Institute. It was there that they met Riley, Jordan, and Connor, all of whom come from different parts of the U.S., and joined to create Perceptionist. Lenny made the decision to move home to Italy early in 2013 and was soon replaced by Abe.
The band is currently recording and will be independently releasing their first full length album in 2013. Perceptionist has hit the LA metal scene hard with numerous shows in Southern California and they are making plans to tour the West Coast.

Just listening to the album, great stuff and definitely worth being added! +1
10.09.2014 - evocate
A small band with many qualities. Their drummer is the mastermind Tobias Schüler from Der Weg einer Freiheit, and he is yet to be discovered by the big scene. Both bands are great, you can hear som similarities between der weg and Fuck you and die, but the band suggested here is more broad than the other. They sound like Necrophagist on most of the tracks from the newely released album 'Elements of instability'. Some songs contain a touch of black metal in them and there are room for som grind as well. These guys knows what they are doing and need more attention! Fans of the technical death metal scene will love this band, guaranteed!
30.08.2014 - roqnroch
Ever since it's inception, Sanity's Rage has set forth to put thrash back on the map.
Not just as a rehash, but to pick up the classical style and give it a modern and technical twist.
Nowhere is this more apparent than on You Are What You Swallow, their debut full album.
A blend of modern, varied thrash with a clear message: no compromise.
29.08.2014 - strikken
One of the best metalcore bands out there today. STRIKKEN's first album, Long Story Short, was added to the video game ROCK BAND and to Rock Band BLITZ in 2012 and became a TOP20 Most Downloaded band in 2012. Their new album, According to Purpose, was released August 27, 2014 and has already sold over 200 copies locally and online. They should be signed and on tour.

Because we are one of the few young hard bands out there with an actually talented female singer! LIke seriously. Listen to that shit. She's got balls!
Not like real, actual balls though. She is a woman. But yeah. She can sing, and we are putting out a new album now soon. I wont try and describe it since im
just gonna sound like a faggot, but I can say Im really really happy with it, and I hope you will check it out. Peace out brotha!
Marcus Greenway - the other dude who plays guitar next to Sandra Szabo.

Todesstoß is quite an accomplished experimental black metal band (among the underground scene at least) with 10 full lengths released plus EPs and compilations. Even though it's only one more band among all the others, its psychedelic vibes and atypical song structures make it sound quite distinct
28.08.2014 - orphansofdusk
Orphans of Dusk should be on Metal Storm because they bring a style of doom metal that is not so common. They're the brute of death/doom but with a magickal, cosmic layer that comes with atmospheric music. It's the gothic aspect that separates them.

Splintered Throne is the premier HEAVY POWER METAL band of the Pacific NW! Playing original music that is a mix of new power metal and classic 80's thrash and melodic progressive, ST is a mix of all that is great in the world of METAL today.

Emphatica is an italian one-man band project led by the composer Gerardo Sciacca. The main genre is Symphonic Metal, but there are influences such as progressive, death/black, electronic and more. Being a one-man band, there can't be live shows, but Gerardo Sciacca hopes that his music will please a lot of fans anyway.

Tom Sutton (ex-Church Of Misery) and Patrik Andersson Winberg (ex Doomdogs) two members of the line-up, already have made it in the Doom scene, so this is a sure indication that this band will break any speed records. And of course, THE ORDER OF ISRAFEL are rooted in Doom, but they shouldn't be reduced to the pure slow-motion sound, because Wisdom is clearly too complex. Wisdom is a record of big gestures and stories and is full of epic beauty and magic. This is not music to be consumed just casually, but a widescreen sound with invitation to dive into tempting and dangerous world. Doom, Hard Rock, Metal, Folk - THE ORDER OF ISRAFEL play with many elements and form a compact unit out of it, with songs to never get boring.
12.09.2014 - AlexisCroze
It's "The Order of Israfel", not "Order of the Israfel". ;)

Inspired by bands such as Nile or Behemoth and driven by a certain bias to the ancient Egyptian mythology Felix and Franko founded the band under the banner ov |Maat| in 2009.
It has been their aim to combine Death Metal with sounds and themes ov the ancient Egypt. Source - Facebook page.
They release great album this year - Maat - "As We Create The Hope From Above".

SCINTILLA, a science fiction thriller is set deep underground in the wilds of a former Soviet state where strange genetic experiments are taking place. A war weary mercenary is hired to lead a company scientist to the secret underground laboratory and with his team of mercenaries to steal the research in the laboratory. Along the way the good people face dangerous militia involved in a bloodthirsty civil war, strange monsters lurking in the abandoned tunnels of the old Soviet bunker and finally they meet the scientist running the genetic experiments and her terrifying secret.
The film has inspired a newly formed super-group THE SCINTILLA PROJECT, fronted by SAXON's own BIFF BYFORD, who will be releasing their album THE HYBRID, featuring songs inspired by the film, on August 18th.
Biff Byford states:' I was introduced to Lionel Hicks by Toby Jepson while recording 'Call To Arms'. This was leading Saxon to write a song for the Lionel Hicks produced film 'Scintilla'. As the film developed through production, our minds began working - maybe we could put together a concept album based and inspired by the film. While I was having a break from writing with Saxon me, Lionel Hicks and Anthony Ritchie ( both 'Balance Of Power') decided that I would produce and also sing on the album, I brought in Andy Sneap to co-produce and play guitar on some tracks'.

Mastermind behind Planet X and a solo artist in his own right. He also tours with Allan Holdsworth, among others. His latest solo album came out in 2013 and it's called In This Life. Highly recommended.

The band was founded in New York by Carlo and Anthony Fragnito. Very short after this they found MaryAnn Scandiffio to join them as a singer. Debut album "Unlaced" was a fact and BLACKLACE did a tour as support to PLASMATICS, MANOWAR, ZEBRA, TALAS and TWISTED SISTER. "Unlaced" was quite a success. Co-produced by Ross the Boss (former guitarist of MANOWAR). They sounded a bit like THE RODS, but now fronted by the raunchy vocals of MaryAnn of course. In 1985, one year after their debut, they released "Get It While It's Hot" and hot, they were! This album rocks your socks off.
