It has been stated many times that we're not about to feature every single metal band that has ever existed. Usually we only add already accomplished bands with at least one full-length release. Still, many bands escape our attention, so it's up to you to tell us which of them are the most worthy of being featured on Metal Storm.
Bands listed here are suggested for addition by our users. You can vote for these bands as well as provide additional comments - both of which will be taken into account when we look for the next band to feature on Metal Storm. If the band is not in the list, you can suggest it here (you need to be a registered member).
Make sure you also check the Blacklisted bands - these are the bands we're not going to add at all, since we feel they won't be appropriate for this website. Yes, some non-metal bands are already featured here, but that's not the reason to add a lot more - so we don't accept arguments like "hey, this band is way more metal than band X you have featured!".

Side project of AAL frontman Tosin Abasi and members of The Mars Volta and Suicidal Tendencies. Not the most metal sound in the world, but there are clear metal undertones. Interesting art!
08.03.2012 - R'Vannith
Wouldn't call them djent but yeah interesting stuff.
31.03.2012 - João Pirucas
This is much more Jazz Fusion than Djent but it's awesome nonetheless. That connotation is there just because Tosin and Javier are part of the band, in my opinion. Good addition to the site anyways. +1

Great instrumental progressive band with 1 EP out so far. Sounds very promising.
edit: Recently released a second EP.

And they released first LP this year, Bilo 3.0, and it's awesome!

Insense deserves to be on Metal Storm because they are not much known outside of norway. Insense is a fantastic bands and should be heard by so many others than just norwegians that are interested in that kind of music.
The vocalist/guitarist Tommy Hjelm also plays with Benea Reach sometimes

It has been a while since being really blown away from a new discovery.
ProFusion is a bit hard to categorize, combining Progressive Metal riffs, Eclectic stuff a la Beardfish, and catchiness like, well... It just gets stuck in your mind and won't go away.
I've yet to have listened to their first album, but their second one (Rewotower) has really blown me away.
The first song of the album (Ghost House) is available on their Reverbnation page.

I'm just not impressed with bands like this these days...all this type of prog is the same. Sounds like watered down DT...

It's kinda rare to see a band with old influences nowadays. And, to be honest, I think that what they say about rock'n'roll is true:
"ROCK'N'ROLL IS NOT ABOUT TECHNIQUES AND 32-NOTES-A-SECOND SOLOS, IT'S ABOUT TOUCHING PEOPLE WITH YOUR MUSIC".

"Sår" (Sar) is a solo project in Depressive Suicidal Black Metal (DSBM) genre which started in 2008 by its only member "Don Andolini" in the north of Iran. The word "Sår" has been taken from one of the Sortsind's song titles with the same name, and it means "Wounds" in English.

Kudos for un-blacklisting them! Let's open our minds!
They play live in metal festivals, have members from other metal bands in Japan (check the bio of their band members), and, on top of all, are actually a pretty decent group.
03.11.2014 - Ruchesko
They were un-blacklisted? Kudos, MS. - The touring band don't lack metal cred either - guitarist #1 tours with Marty Friedman and guitarist #2 is Galneryus's ex-bassist

AraPacis (Ara-Patches) is a female fronted metal band hailing from Montreal, Canada. Formed in 2003 by guitarist Jerry Fielden, their main goal was to re-create some of the orignal aspects of 1970's Hard Rock and Progressive Rock and fuse it together with early 21st Century Progressive, Doom & Gothic Metal to make an interesting metal hybrid. Their debut album ''So Many Leapers'' was released in April of 2006. and their second album ''Consequences Of Dreams'' was released on October 5, 2009. The band is now working on their 3rd album.

AraPacis is more Classic/Prog Metal than Metalcore, AraPacis has shared the stage with The Agonist, Raven and Anvil, amongst other bands.

Not metalcore... somethin' else. Appeared with the closing track on this femme-metal (voices) compilation http://www.metalstorm.net/bands/album.php?album_id=32808 Third album 'Netherworld' released end of 2011 on Ravenheart Music, and 'Déjà-Vu' EP self-released at end of March, this year (now available for free DL from the band's site, along with about six other older songs) (it appears DV EP is 4 re-recordings of older songs - so you can hear So Many Leapers' title-track twice, and find the advances they've made over 7 years)

We are Wicked Faith. A four piece rock band from Norwich, UK, formed in the latter part of 2011.
We were brought together via a love of music, and we are doing all in our power to bring our music to you. The real music lovers. Because we are one of you. In the short time we have been together, we have released an EP, released an album, played venues we used to dream about playing including headlining The Waterfront main stage in our home town of Norwich, the 02 Academy Islington and the legendary 100 Club on Oxford Street, London. But it's all about the music - always has been, always will be.
We firmly believe in creating the music we want to create, and not be guided by fashions or scenes. What you hear is us. Matt, Jade Mia and Tim. Our debut album "Under No Illusion" was our first musical statement. And that has opened the door to many amazing things. But the biggest thing with this band is, don't get comfortable. Music was never created to be comfortable, and our influences NEVER made people comfortable. We may be a young band pretty new to the scene, but in the time we've been together, we have seen the good, the bad and the ugly sides of this industry. And have seen that the only thing that truly counts is honesty. Thanks for joining us, this will be an exciting journey...

The SIMUS were formed in the province of Como (Italy) in 2008. From the very beginning one of the main features of the band was to associate their music with other types of artistic expression in order to fully involve the listener-viewer. The songs of the band - difficult to be classified in one sole genre of music, moving among rock, prog and metal, cross different sound worlds in order to create a continuous flow of heterogeneous emotional states. In 2010, in collaboration with Myphonic Records, the band released their first CD "HUMAN PRISON", registered and mixed by Carlo "Fajo" Girardi from One Black Sock Studio in Turin. In line with proper artistic ideas this first work saw the collaboration with Rosario Chinello, the author of the CD-cover and with the photographer Stefano Simeone, who took care of all the photographic images of the band. The single "Drops and Lies" was included in several compilations, among which the californian "KILL CITY vol.29". In the summer of the same year SIMUS participated at Colonia Sonora Festival, sharing the stage with the Americans Coheed and Cambria. In May of 2012 relying on NAFFINTUSI Studio and thanks to the collaboration of the model and actress Ilaria Pozzi, the band released their first music videoclip on the single "PLANET CAIAK". Great result of the work and the collaboration with Jack Rock Agency gave them a possibility to organize a tour of eight dates in Russia along with Audrey and Rhyme; the tour was followed and documented by the photographer Roberto Casali. Since the first months of 2013 the band is entirely dedicated to the production and recording of the new album "VOX VULT", whose release is scheduled for the end of 2014.

This band plays a very entertaining and unique mix of Mike Patton, Devin Townsend and Diablo Swing Orchestra and both their albums Giggles, Garlands & Gallows as well as Deadly Scenes were absolutely amazing. Just watch the amazing new video to their song 'Back widow' ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UQR7CwV5WqU ), their wonderful homage to Devin Townsend 'I'm a nerd' ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wk_kTkrKpaY ) or the Pattonish 'I like it' ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c-2Qw17BITw ) from their first album with singer Arno Strobl of Carnival in Coal.

Despite relatively low amount of listeners (42000 views of top video on YT isn't that low anyway), it evokes very strong impressions among dedicated listeners and is regarded as one of the best in the genre. It's my 2011's deep underground find, which keeps on gaining attention thanks to my uploads. I am in touch with the author, who wants to stay in shadows himself. I'm not sure if it's enough, but I'm sure many users would double my opinion.

Upcoming band with great potential, Trustfall is working hard to promote their own music for the upcoming debut EP containing 6 songs and is a followup on their single release in may 2014.

I hope that this band will be considered for moderation as this band combines unique sound with progressive, art and jazz rock. Being influenced by such legendary progressive rock bands as: Genesis, Yes, King Crimson, Emerson,Lake&Palmer this band has a really unique and marvelous sound. All the albums are really different and full of emotions and energy. I presume that Izz guys could be a good addition to this site.
With best regards.

They have two full-length albums under their wings ('Into the Depths of Oblivion' and 'Apotheosis') and their music is (to quote their website) "rooted in Avantgarde Black Metal and infused with atmospheric and doom-laden sections".
