Biography

Black Crucifixion is a pioneer of Finnish black metal. A well-hidden, but much debated one. Not here to serve, follow rules or obey dogmas.

In their 22 years the band has managed to stay true to the ever-evolving nature of their music and away from the public eye.

Black Crucifixion was conceived in Lapland in 1991 by Forn and Blacksoul with Beherit members Sodomatic Slaughter and Wennström joining them on drums and bass. This line-up played band's first show and was soon reduced to a trio of Forn, Blacksoul and Sodomatic Slaughter that recorded their debut The Fallen One of Flames.

In 1992 E. Henrik joined the band resulting in Promethean Gift mini-album.

Work on the full-length Faustian Dream album began in 1996 and was not finalized until 2006 when it saw the light of northern day.

In 2009 Black Crucifixion returned to stages playing dates in Germany, Holland and Belgium. The new and vitalized line-up continued playing selected shows in their native Finland throughout 2010 and the band also re-entered studio to record their new album that will be released in 2011 to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The first show of the year will be played where it all began, the town of Rovaniemi in the Arctic Circle.
