9.7 RICHTER is one of the few advocates of the modern heavy metal genre from Romania, with a diversified approach, a fresh and actual sound, driven by both classic and contemporary trends.

In May 2010, 9.7 RICHTER launches "Epicenter", the band's first EP. It was called "the most solid material [metal music] of 2010" (Carteadenisip.ro) and following its launch, 9.7 RICHTER has been invited to take part in important festivals such as ArtMania 2010 or International Tattoo Convention Bucharest 2010.

In October 2013, beeing in full process of production of a new studio album, 9.7 RICHTER was invited to open the concert of Tim "Ripper" Owens (ex-Judas Priest, Iced Earth, ex-Yngwie Malmsteen, Beyond Fear) in
Bucharest.

In the spring of 2014, filming of the first 9.7 RICHTER video were temporarily discontinued at the invitation of
Romanian Thrash Metal Club to share the stage with UK thrash metal legend, Virus.

In July 2014, "Sinner" is released, the first single from what would be the new 9.7 RICHTER studio album,
accompanied by the band's first video. "Sinner" has seen success beyond expectations, being broadcasted on known radio stations and video recording over 20 000 views on YouTube.

On October 8, 2014, the new album, "Ground Zero" is released under Universal Music Romania. On this occasion, 9.7 RICHTER throws a special launch party, along with guests from known bands as Trooper, Breathelast and Goodbye To Gravity at The Silver Church Club in Bucharest.

In February 2015, during the gala for Maximum Rock Awards, "Ground Zero" was named as the winner of the "Best Romanian Metal Album", while "Sinner" won the "Best Romanian Rock/Metal Video" category.

On July 1st, 9.7 RICHTER alongside german heroes Helloween opened the JUDAS PRIEST's "Redeemer of
Souls" Romanian tour part in Bucharest at Romexpo.
