Good news for Mastodon fans. The band has officially confirmed that they are already brewing a new album which will follow The Hunter released back in September of 2011.
Swedish progressive metallers Opeth have announced a co-headlining North American tour with Mastodon. Ghost will be their special guests opening all shows. The tour starts on April 4th in Portland, Maine, and will end on May 12th in Atlanta, Georgia.
"Dry Bone Valley", a brand new video from US stoner outfit Mastodon is now available online and you can watch it below. The song is the band's new single and is taken from their latest output The Hunter, released last year. The video was directed and animated by Tim Biskup.
The Hunter, the new album from Mastodon, is now streaming in its entirety on YouTube. The video also includes a montage of images associated with each track on the album. The Hunter officially hits shelves next Tuesday, September 27th, 2011, through Reprise Records. More album details were previously reported over here.

The Hunter was recorded at Doppler Studios in Atlanta with producer Mike Elizondo. Drum tracks were previously completed in Los Angeles at the legendary Sound City Studios (the place where Nirvana's Nevermind was recorded).
A brand-new track, called "Black Tongue" is still available for streaming at this location. The new single "Curl Of The Burl" will make its online debut on August 16th. More info on the limited edition can be found here.

"Deathbound", a brand-new track from US sludge metallers Mastodon, is now available for streaming on Adult Swim. Also, a music video for "Deathbound" can be seen bellow.

Noisecreep is reporting that Mastodon guitarist Brent Hinds is working on an as-yet-unnamed new project with The Dillinger Escape Plan guitarist Ben Weinman, former The Mars Volta drummer Thomas Pridgen and ex-Jane's Addiction bassist Eric Avery.
Since the members of the project live on opposite sides of the country, progress been a bit slow. "We tried to get together and do an album, but there's been no time," Hinds recently told Noisecreep. "We want to record crazy stuff and Ben is working on that, but it's been hard to get together."
Even though the project is officially nameless, Hinds wants to call it Giraffe Tongue "because they look sick."
