Warrel Dane - New Documentary Online

Recently, we lost singer and lyricist Warrel Dane. On December 13th, 2017, Warrel Dane passed away in São Paulo, Brazil while recording the follow-up to 2008's Praises To The War Machine. In essence, a tribute release, Shadow Work contains over 40 minutes of music with Warrel's voice tracked during pre-production, demo and recording sessions. While recording the album, photographer Renan Facciolo visited the group in the studio to capture footage documenting the creation of the record. You can watch the documentary now below.

Warrel Dane - Another New Song Revealed

Century Media Records has released the second new song off of Shadow Work, singer Warrel Dane's final recordings. He passed away last December of a heart attack during the recordings of his second solo album in São Paulo, Brazil. After reviewing the material that could be completed using vocals from various studio and pre-production sessions with Warrel, the label decided to release Shadow Work on October 26th, 2018. Today, you can hear "As Fast As The Others" from the album.

Sanctuary - Tribute Upcoming Shows As Farewell To Warrel Dane, Announce Guest Vocalist

American metallers Iced Earth had announced a North American tour with Sanctuary before Warrel Dane passed away. It has now been announced that the tour will go on as planned, as a tribute to the fallen singer, one of metal's most revered vocalists. The band has invited a guest singer to perform Sanctuary songs and that will be Joseph Michael from Witherfall.

Nevermore - Warrel Dane Passes Away Of Heart Attack

Terrible news surfaced today for Nevermore and Sanctuary fans as singer Warrel Dane has reportedly passed away in Brazil, according to Brazilian news source UOL. He also had a solo career and was in fact working on a new solo album. He was only 56 years old. Warrel Dane possessed a unique voice, penned thought-provoking lyrics and his music will live on. Rest in peace...

Warrel Dane - New Video Online

Warrel Dane has posted a video online for his solo-debut "Praises To The War Machine". The video is for the track "Brother" and is a haunting look into Dane's childhood and relationship with his older brother. The stunning piece was filmed by Max Gutierrez and also features home videos from Dane's childhood. Warrel Dane had the following to say about "Brother":

"I'm very happy with the end result, working with Max Guiterrez was a great experience; he really translated the lyrics into a beautiful piece of cinematic art. The day of the shoot I was confronting issues I had been holding inside for years, you can see this in my face. All the home movie footage is authentic, raw and very real. This is a glimpse into my life that I never though I would share."

Warrel Dane - New Solo Track Posted Online

Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane has posted a new song called "Messenger", taken from his new solo album "Praises To The War Machine", on his official MySpace page. The song features a guest solo by Nevermore guitarist Jeff Loomis.

Warrel Dane's debut solo album, "Praises to the War Machine" cover art] will be released on April 28 in Europe and May 13 in North America via Century Media Records.
