Meshuggah - Explain Tour Cancellation

The following message has been posted on Meshuggah's official website:

"We regrettably have to inform you that we have been forced to pull out of the November Euro tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan. There are several reasons for this. The main one being the fact that the album recording has taken longer than what was originally planned. As an effect of that - NB has moved the album release to Jan/Feb of 2008.
In light of this we choose to not do a tour that could compromise the outcome of the album as well as possibly delaying the release even more.

Our intention was to have the album out in November and then do this as the first tour in direct support of the release. With this "album-promotional" aspect of the tour gone, we feel that we should instead focus on the most important thing at hand - the album!

We realize that this is a big disappointment to everyone who didn't have the opportunity to catch us on the European tour last summer but we will be back in 2008 touring the new album. Tourdates will be posted shortly!

Our apologies to the other bands on the bill and to all who already bought their tickets as well as those who were about to do so. The tickets are, of course, refundable.

/Meshuggah"

Korpiklaani - Sign With Nuclear Blast

The following news has been posted on Nuclear Blast site:

The Finnish Folk-Metal tribe of Korpiklaani are the latest addition to the Nuclear Blast familiy! The guys have signed a worldwide contract and we are all looking forward to the upcoming releases of this outstanding band. The six guys coming directly from the woods have issued the following statement about this joyful occasion:

"Once upon a time were the merry men of Korpiklaani on a tour somewhere in Europe, drinking beer in the bus on the road from here to there. Between the beers there was also some talk about our future. On the small bus table, half hidden under the dog-eared deck of cards, coins and empty bottles, there was a Blast! magazine. This catalogue of Nuclear Blast had seen better days. It had already served as a beermat, ashtray and toilet entertainment, even though the language was totally incomprehensible to us.

Our highly intelligent conversation moved to record companies and we started to wonder which one of them would be the best for us. Jonne happened to set his bleary eyes on the scruffy magazine and asked if anyone knew any band that had left Nuclear Blast. There was a silence.
No one knew and we saw that it was good. That's when we first got the idea that Nuclear Blast would actually be a great company for us as well. It must be a good home for bands because no one ever leaves. The idea of us and them still felt distant and unrealistic.

As the time passed, our small and ugly Folk Metal band gained more success, slowly but steadily, and played more and more concerts. And behold, one day we got a word from our own chargé d'affaires, Matte, that one of the best is interested in us, Nuclear Blast.

Our first meeting was in Germany, the land of... eh... well, Germans. We were prepared to meet bald, fat businessmen in their black three-piece suits with briefcases full of contract papers. We couldn't find any. Instead of that there some smiling folkmetal loving fellows with pints in their hands. And then we heard the magic words: "You guys want some beer?"

Kataklysm - Entered Studio Last Week

The band entered the studio last week with producer and guitarist J-f Dagenais, - drummer Max Duhamel will be first laying down the drum work for "Prevail" - The recording process will last five weeks (hopefully) with vocalist Maurizio Iacono schedualed to record his vocals in September.

Maurizio's comments:
" The album is done and ready to go, although it was a breeze to write this album as things came so naturally, on the lyrics end, I worked the hardest i have in years making sure everything is where it should be,at times it was real difficult but the end result will speak for itself, Im truely convinced this album will take no prisoners, as you know we dont repeat the same record twice, this album stands on a league of its own..and im not saying its our best album, because only the fans have the right to say wether it is or not, all im saying is I listen to the songs and I wanna punch the fucking wall, that means we are on to something good."

Kataklysm has also hired the services of Producer Jason Suecof (Chimaira / Trivium / The Black Dahlia Murder) to mix the album in early January 2008, "Prevail" will also feature some guest appearances to be announced at a later date.

The highly anticipated album is scheduled for a worldwide release date of May 23rd 2008 via Nuclear Blast Records.
Stay tuned as the band will release a few touring announcements very soon...

Testament - Italian Dates Cancelled

Veteran San Francisco Bay Area Thrashers Testament have cancelled their previously announced dates in Italy due to "scheduling conflicts." The band wishes to express their grief in cancelling these two shows."

There has been a difficult situation recently involving band drummer Nick Barker having visa issues and due to scheduling conflicts the band are going into the studio earlier at the end of August, earlier than anticipated, to begin recording their forthcoming Nuclear Blast release. Testament wishes to thank the fans for their continued support as well as Debbie and the Italian promoters of these shows for being so generous with their understanding of the situation. Testament will be back in Italy soon and make it up to everyone. The affected dates are as follows. Aug. 31st Velvet - Rimini, Italy and Sep. 1st Route To Hell Fest - Palamaggio-Caserta, Italy

Threshold - Singer Pulls Out Of Upcoming Live Shows

Nuclear Blast have issued the following update concerning UK Prog Metallers Threshold:

"Threshold's singer Mac has astonished his fellow band members by deciding NOT to perform at this weekend's Metal Camp and Earthshaker festivals in Slovenia and Germany.

"Mac was due to arrive in England on Saturday for band rehearsals, but on Saturday morning he sent us a short email saying he has to get on with his life and he's not coming", keyboarder Richard West states.
"It was totally unexpected and we're all shocked by the news. Mac won't answer our phone calls so we can't get any more information from him. With two festivals to perform next weekend our only option was to cancel the shows or find a replacement singer."
Fortunately the band's previous singer Damian Wilson has come to the rescue and will perform at the festivals with the band for the first time since 1997!

Richard: " He's now very busy learning the new material in time for Friday's show in Slovenia. We don't know what the long-term solution is, our focus right now is on the two festivals, we'll see how they go and take it from there."

Damian Wilson is currently lead singer for the band Headspace who recently supported Ozzy Osbourne for UK shows including Wembley Arena.

For more information see www.thresh.net."
