Fleshgrind - Calling It A Day

Illinois-based grinders Fleshgrind have posted the following message on their official website:

"We regretfully wish to inform everyone that Fleshgrind has officially called it quits. For some that's good news, for others it's gonna suck. The reasoning behind this decision was not an easy one after 13 years but we feel this is the best time to move on. Before our last show about a month ago vocalist Rich Lispcomb formally stepped down from the position. Instead of contemplating replacing Rich with another vocalist, the remaining three members: Steve Murray, James Genenz, and Jesse Kehoe; have decided to move on in a new project. It just wouldn't be right calling ourselves Fleshgrind if Rich isn't involved. Rich has decided he needs a life change. His heart just wasn't into it anymore, business wise and artistically, so he is moving on. He sold his business, United Guttural Records, and will be moving to Michigan to get on with his life.

The three of us have no hard feelings towards Rich and his decision, and respect him even more for coming out about how he felt, and we are excited about the uninhibited possibilites for our new project. We are currently undergoing a group soul search to determine our direction in our future endeavors, and will be looking for a singer and possibly a second guitarist to fill out the group, although that search has yet to get underway. For now we just wish to respectfully put Fleshgrind to rest. We wish to thank every single person that has ever supported us in any way. You all know who you are.

The MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/fleshgrind will stay active for some time to come. News and information on our future efforts will be available here until everything is set in stone. We will be looking for members in the coming weeks. Again, we thank everyone for their support!"

Amon Amarth - North American Preparation Underway

Amon Amarth are gearing up for their return to North America, the band sent this message out to fans:

"Alright, just a week left until we head out on tour again! Starting with two off shows half-way; on Iceland. It was hard to put a set together with the time limit we have (30 min) but it is a deadly intense set! It's going to be cool to come back to North American soil again after two years and we look forward touring with Children of Bodom and Trivium. It's going to be an awesome ride with many of the shows already sold out! Remember to be there early since we're first up to play!"

Nasum - Ex-Members Starting New Project

The following message can be found in the band's site.

"Tomorrow Jon and Urban come to Örebro. We are going to kickstart a new little project, which will include Jesper in the future, but this weekend its just us three.

Yes, it's all ex-Nasum members in this project, and yes, there will be a great amount of grinding done, but no - this is not Nasum part 2, this is just a couple of friends who happen to like playing together catching up and making some music at the same time.

I'll tell you more when there is something more to tell, this weekend we'll just write some songs I guess and see what happens. A recording is planed sometime, but nothing more than that.

I've been looking forward to this weekend many many weeks now so I am very excited about all this."

Nasum - "Grind Finale" Slightly Delayed

Nasum drummer Anders Jakobson has posted the following message on the band's official website:

"I'm unhappy to announce that "Grind Finale" will be slightly delayed due to printing issues. I don't have the exact details, but apparently the printer sent the wrong templates for the artwork to Relapse, resulting in a complete set of artwork in the wrong size, so the Relapse guys have all worked this over and corrected everything according to the right templates, resulting in a slight delay in the release.

There are a lot of time, love and energy invested in this release already and we are certainly not going to damage all that with a bad printing, so we all just have to face the fact and wait a little longer for the release.

The new release dates are as follows:
USA: November 15
Europe: November 21
Japan: During November

I still haven't got the exact date for the Japanese release but right this moment George Seki of Howling Bull is translating the whole 80 page booklet to Japanese (the only bonus they will get)...

Again I'm sorry for the delay. This is not ours or Relapse's fault, we should all just blame a clumsy printer who also happens to lack a lot of servicemindness, being a lazy ass bastard! Hehe! So just wait for it a little longer, OK?"

We want to thank Metallysee, World management, Listenable and everyone else involved that made the tour a great experience. Also many hails go out to all the metal heads that came out and showed their support every night!!!"

Within Temptation - Prepare New Live DVD

Within Temptation have posted the following message on their official website:

"In November last year our third album 'The Silent Force' came out in Europe and we recently just released it in the UK as well. Things have been going great, and after a summer full of cool European shows it was also good to see some of our UK fans in London and at the Bloodstock Festival earlier this month. We are happy and a little proud to look back on a year full of highlights.

Now, the festival season is almost over. Everyone thinks Within Temptation are going to sit back and put our feet up! On the contrary, we are currently preparing the release of a new live DVD which will contain the special concert we did on Amsterdam's Java Island, cuts from many other live shows, interviews and backstage footage plus the promo videos since the previous DVD (from the Mother Earth tour). We want to get as many highlights on the DVD('s) as possible for our fans! The release of the 'The Silent Force Tour' DVD is scheduled for November 21st. And in the UK, to follow on from our first single 'Stand My Ground', we are also working on our second single - which will be 'Angels'.

But there is still more good news to announce! There will be a new album in 2006, maybe around the summer. Before that though, a new band member will see the light of day... Sharon is five months pregnant and she & Robert expect a baby in January 2006.

The last two years have really given a boost to our inspiration for new songs - we already have a lot of ideas. After the DVD is finished we will be concentrating on writing in order to surprise you with a fresh and an interesting mix of songs as soon as possible!

Today we have been informed that Within Temptation have been nominated for the 'Best Dutch & Belgian Act' Award at MTV's European Music Awards held in Lisbon on November 3rd. If you like, you can vote for Within Temptation at http://ema.mtv.nl.

We would like to thank all of our fans who made it possible for us to play so many international festivals and shows this summer. We enjoyed being on stage in front of you very much and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!"

This will be the very first recording of the band without Antimo, but we must say to all our fans that there's nothing to worry about!! The new stuff will be our sickest and most brutal ever!!

The artwork cover is going to be done by Phlegeton who already did covers for bands like AVULSED, WORMED, VIDRES A LA SANG, REVENANT, FUNEBRE, etc and it's expected to be the one of the most brutal covers on earth!!

Bloodbath - Searching For New Vocalist

Swedish death metallers Bloodbath have posted the following message on their official website:

"Bloodbath is looking for a new singer that will equal or outdo the two former singers, yes you read that right, so (hint hint), some of you might wanna stop reading here already. Anyways, we're certain a new death metal god is lurking out there as even Mike Åkerfeldt (Opeth)and Peter Tägtgren (Hypocrisy) started out somewhere, being unknown and raw talent. We got a number of very strict rules and high demands and if you dont qualify all of these, then please dont bother applying, thank you very much.

RULES FOR APPLYING

1. Your vocals must be brutal but clear with essential articulation (we'll be judging harshly).

2. The mp3 of your vocals you want us to listen to can be whatever you like, but you MUST also be ready to perform a Bloodbath song upon our request.

3. All various kinds of earlier experience is taken into consideration, but not a demand.

4. The level of ambition, passion and hunger for performing this kind of metal must be at 100%.

5. Keep in mind we're looking for a new frontman, someone able to work a large audience with charisma and skill. Hesitations? Then please step aside.

6. You must be able and willing to commit to touring.

7. Your age is 20+ years old.

We can not guarantee a reply, but will consider and check all mails. Bare in mind, at the same time this audition is running, we're also actively searching among a few well known and not well known names on our own, so the outcome is pending.

Do not contact us before reading the rules.
Do NOT e-mail us mp3s. You must send a link to an mp3 hosted on your server.

To Apply, email blood@bloodbath.biz with the subject "BLOODBATH vocalist application".

Maryland Death Fest 2006 - 2 Bands out, 5 added

Two bands have dropped off next year's Maryland Death Fest, scheduled to take place May 27th and 28th 2006 at The Sonar in Baltimore, MD. Those bands are Fistfuck and Frightmare. The following explanation has been posted on the Maryland Death Fest website:

"A band member in Fistfuck had a personal matter come up and won't be able to travel to the US next May. It is not the bands fault, nor is it ours. The band has stated they will play shows in the US as soon as it is possible again.

Also, although Frightmare was the first band we confirmed for MDF IV, they have canceled. Now they don't want to make their appearance exclusive to MDF and that's the only explanation we can provide you. As frustrating as this for us, that's all we're going to say. "

The following five bands have been added, in addition to replacing Frightmare And Fistfuck:

Cliteater (Netherlands)
Rompeprop (Netherlands)
Burnt By The Sun (New Jersey)
Mucupurulent (Germany)
Embalmer (Ohio)

They join the following list of previously confirmed bands:

Demilich (Finland)
Necrophagist (Germany)
Machetazo (Spain)
Butcher Abc (Japan)
Sanity's Dawn (Germany)
Gorgasm (Illinois)
Municipal Waste (Virginia)
Yacoepsae (Germany)
Engorged (Oregon)
Cenotaph (Turkey)
Beneath The Massacre (Canada)
Electro Quarterstaff (Canada)
Total Fucking Destruction (Pennsylvania)
