Testament - To Enter The Studio This Summer

Famed British producer Andy Sneap (Megadeth, Arch Enemy, Nevermore, Exodus) has revealed to Radio Metal that he will enter the studio this summer with San Francisco Bay Area metal veterans Testament to begin work on the follow-up to 2008's The Formation Of Damnation. A late 2011/early 2012 release is expected.

"The new album will most likely be a culmination of The Gathering (1999) and The Formation of Damnation, but we're definitely not going to forget who we are or our roots. I think we've found a comfortable spot in our writing style," Testament vocalist Chuck Billy stated in a 2010 interview.

Sounds promising, a combination of The Gathering and The Formation of Damnation certainly sounds like a winning combination!

Love the Gathering, love the Formation, so I'm sure I'll probably love this album as well.

I think their best stuff was souls of black/the ritual, but anything resembling any 2 of their albums is good enough. Sign me up!

Haha, that's like saying "compose your own Metal album and upload it here, instead of writing a review of an album".

Hell Yeah! Chuck Billy is the only thrash singer that doesn't have to yell to sound awesome and heavy. Looking forward to this. The Formation of Damnation was epic.

This is great news, Testament have always been one of my fave bands, and Chuck Billy is a killer singer! \m/

I hope this time, Alex can get more of his more melodic stuff into the mix. I certainly wouldn't expect The Ritual Pt.II or anything, but to me it was always Alex and Eric's different approaches to songwriting that made them so great. Even though I do love a lot of stuff Testament did when Alex was out of the band. xD
