18:18 - Zaphod Red, read the Dark Tower if you want an interesting main character. LeKiwi, I might one day, If I'm REALLY bored and wanna spend my time with an 800 page tome :P
18:14 - Redn1ght Why I usually avoid [insertpopularbookhere] is because of stereotypical main characters. I just want a character that isn't copy/paste Paladin archetype. (Generic Lawful Stupid teen. You know what I mean.)
18:12 - LeKiwi @Zaphod: you could always read the first book...you might like it - rehashes can be done well I suppose. @blood: what parts were rehashed?
18:06 - Zaphod Besides, there are many popular fantasy books that are just rehashes of Tolkien, even modern releases. Now Malazan is another long series that I haven't read yet, but that one I will at least check out because I heard it is fresh
18:04 - Zaphod Just because it received acclaim doesn't mean it's original or good. I'm not gonna judge it since I haven't read it, but I never will because I don't think it worth finding out since it's such a long series.
18:00 - bloodwrage I read the first of the Wheel of Time series for the first time a few months ago, and all I could think about was how much of a LOTR rehash it was.

Jiri is pretty excited. The song sounds good. Much better than the first song ("The Bolted Door") they released for the their last album. That was very disappointing, but this sounds great! Jiri has high hopes
