Metallica are busy these days preparing the release of their upcoming 3D feature film Metallica Through The Never. The group released a trailer before but now the full official theatrical trailer has made its premiere at the San Diego Comic-Con. You can take a look at the full trailer below as well as the official movie poster. The movie will be available in IMAX theaters on September 27th and additional theatres on October 4th.

Metallica Through The Never stars Metallica and the award-winning filmmaker Nimród Antal immerses audiences in a spectacular live performance footage of Metallica's most iconic songs combined with a narrative story featuring imagery drawn from the band's iconography. Dane DeHaan portrays Trip, a young roadie sent on an urgent mission, during the Metallica's roaring live set in front of a sold-out arena. While on this mission, he unexpectedly has his life turned completely upside down. The film features dazzling pyrotechnics, the most elaborate live-performance stage ever built and state-of-the-art 3D photography, captured using up to 24 cameras simultaneously.

There is also a new website dedicated to the movie. It will be the home for previews, behind the scenes photos and videos, all the news about when and where the movie will be showing and how to get tickets. If you would like to be among the first to see the film on September 27th, tickets are available now, including advance 10:00pm and midnight screenings the night before. Reserve your spot at your local theatre here.

I read that it's live performance somehow mixed with the history of the blonde guy in that riot or whatever.

I guess I can say it is stuff mixed in between musical and movie. Well, its 2013 been 30 years since they formed. It's new technology era, I can say I dont like this stuff, but you know time for some change and up with entertainment, I still enjoy their old stuff however I would buy this one, its innovation aspect for beyond music theme only...its entertainment stuff, modern technology. : \

"The biggest band". What modesty. They forgot to add "20 years ago".

like it or not they still are the biggest metal band around. Even bigger than twenty years ago. They gross more money with touring and sell out bigger venues than at that time and ever before.

To call this retarded would be an insult to the mentally disabled.

Oh, it's Jesse from In Treatment.

I don't care about the movie.

Yes, that is true. However, I was thinking about them being a great band, so I guess I wasn't too clear

I wouldn't walk across the room to see this garbage. Amazing how Lica (metal left long time ago) has become what they used to despise. Hetfield blowing kisses at the crowd saying "We love you?".......UGH!! To each their own though

I'm going to be slaughtered for saying this but fuck it, I'm definitely interested in seeing this when it comes out. Whether it succeeds well or fails hard, I think it'd be worth a view out of curiosity (hopefully I just pay matinee price if possible, or better yet free ).

EDIT:
Reading further into this movie, I'm not sure whether I want to see it or not. It looks pretty stupid.
