Swedish gothic metallers Beseech are preparing a treat for their fans. The band just announced that after nearly a decade of silence, Beseech is returning to the music scene in 2014 and "sounding more Beseech than ever by returning to their roots of melancholy and emotions." For the first time since Souls Highway, all the original composers are back in the band.

In a statement, the band reveals: "We are very excited about bringing Beseech back to life. About a year ago, Manne Engström (guitar), Robert Vintervind (guitar) and the former guitarist and songwriter Klas Bohlin (vocals), entered StudioMega to figure out the next era and return of Beseech."

More information will come on the official webpage that will be released the 24th of December. Consider it a Christmas gift then.

Well, that sure was unexpected...

While I wasn't the biggest fan of their last two albums, I must still say that this seems very promising at first glance, especially seeing as all the original composers are back. I can't wait to get more info about what's to come.

Aw yeah! Good to see these guys again. One of the few gothic metal bands I still enjoy. The trailer had some nice moments so I'm definitely interested.

Great! If Delight would also be active one more, 2014 would be a great year!

Awesome. I never liked The Mary Major as hard as I tried. Erik is gone though.. I miss those deep deep vocals.

As delighted I am for their return, I can't help but be disappointed that Lotta and Erik did not join them. Lotta's vocals, for me, were certainly a highlight. Angelina sounds beautiful, however, and Klas sounds like a mixture of Jörgen and Erik.

I agree with you. It's sad the band's old voices aren't coming back, but I'm still thrilled to see Beseech back nonetheless.

Well, Klas always did some vocals here and there in the first 3 albums. I like the vocals I'm hearing so far so I don't get too sad about it.

I haven't heard such good news for a long time (all right... if we don't count Floor joining Nightwish)...
Indeed, Lotta and Erik could've joined and that'd been great but the main thing about Beseech always was the atmosphere of the music. Mary Major is good but their style is markedly different. I am so happy to have Beseech back again!

Honestly, I prefer Jörgen Sjöberg (main male vocals for the first 2 albums) over Erik any day of the week.
