Behemoth - Tease New Album

Behemoth have started the teasing campaign ahead of the release of their new album. The Polish black/death metallers will hit the road across North America to headline the Ecclesia Diabolica America 2018 tour and release their new record via Metal Blade Records (North America) / Nuclear Blast (Europe) this fall. Today the band has released a cover artwork of frontman Nergal crucified and the cryptic title GOD=DOG but haven't revealed if it's the final album cover, title, potential single or any other details. Let the speculation begin.

We should find out more about the new album soon!

Meh. will listen as it's sort of an obligation as staff here. the shame is the theatrics on his part are just sub-par, the kind which might appeal to the Hot Topic crowd or the kids buying upside-down cross necklaces at Dimmu shows for $20 a pop.

Behemoth is starting to sound like a rock band. Not the worst thing in the world. Chock it up to maturity and near death experiences I guess.

I couldn't agree more about the theatrics but the music is not bad at all.

Not bad, excellent musicianship, but seems lacking in some sort of spark. Feels sterile, like someone programming a computer to create and play technically oriented death metal. I've liked their albums, particularly Evangelion (based upon scoring it an 8), though nothing really sticks with me. Someone on this site (Pyroleprechaun, maybe?) once referred to them as the Chinese Food of DM... the joke in the US is 30 minutes after eating a meal of Chinese food, you find yourself hungry again. With Behemoth, 30 minutes later you've forgotten what you listened to. FOund that accurate enough that the gist has stuck with me.

The Chinese food analogy is absolutely spot on and I'm stealing it to explain to people why I don't find Behemoth that great on recordings.
