Classic Rock has just announced after much speculation that Led Zeppelin will reunite for a one-off special show at the O2 Arena in London on Monday, November 26.

The message on the Classic Rock website procedes:

"Tickets cost £125 each and will be available 'by ballot'. More details as we have it.

The bill also includes Pete Townshend, Bill Wyman & The Rhythm Kings, Foreigner and Paolo Nutini.

Founding members Jimmy Page (guitar), Robert Plant (vocals) and John Paul Jones (bass) will be joined by Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, on drums.

The one-off performance has just been announced via a handout given to attendees at a press conference in the Vue cinema at the O2 complex. It's a memorial gig in honour of Ahmet Ertegun, the co-founder and longstanding chairman of Atlantic Records.

Ertegun, the man who signed Zep to Atlantic, died in December 2006 at age 83.

Profits from the show will go to Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund which provides students with annual scholarships to universities in the UK, USA and Turkey."

Too bad that they are going to make only one gig I would love to see them....
Lucas - 12.09.2007 at 19:08
125 pounds? That's a fucking lot.
Bitch Boy - 12.09.2007 at 19:15
My dad was right I thought it was just a rumour. Well, good for these old folks, but it is so unfair that they are going to do just one gig, they should do a world tour instead.
jupitreas - 12.09.2007 at 19:30
hmm i think i might go and see them. probably wont be many chances to see these guys play again in the future...
Estix - 12.09.2007 at 19:52
hmm...the ticket costs more than I would need to get there by plane. I'm out
selken - 12.09.2007 at 19:58
wow, it's one day after my birthday, London is so far away, one gig is not enough for them.
125 pounds? is that the minimal weight for going or is the price?
Damnated - 12.09.2007 at 20:01
money, money, money
Magere Tijn - 12.09.2007 at 21:15
I believe there will bo maaaaany students who will get a scholarship, the concert is going to make huge profits with 125 pounds for one ticket
Doc Godin - 13.09.2007 at 00:07

ThunderAxe1989 - 13.09.2007 at 02:20

Dane Train - 13.09.2007 at 03:29

There won't be any chances to go see them again. They havn't played together in 19 years, and by the time another 19 years goes by these guys will be pensioners.
domz - 13.09.2007 at 05:54
wow... just wow... this is mythical.. I just hope they are as good as everyone is expecting them to be
Lanfawn - 13.09.2007 at 06:25
What a big feeling it must be for Jason to play all his father's tracks along with the classic line-up. I envy him, I want to play drums for Led Zep too
Hyvaarin - 13.09.2007 at 06:52
One-off? Hahahahahaaha.

Darth Satanious - 13.09.2007 at 14:23
It has been ages since I first heard that rumor of a reunited Led with the son of Bonham on drums. I think that we should also consider the possibility that after playing together they would like to keep on going. I wonder if that would turn out to be a good idea.

12 years. I was reading about this gig in the paper today and it said 12 years.

I fdon't think you've got a chance. All 20,000 tickets are sold out. There were 20,000,000 requests for tickets.
BF - 14.09.2007 at 10:37
Depends on which paper/news report you read/see. I never trust T.V these days anyway. The highlight story of the night is always a dog on a surfboard, while a cure for cancer gets a 5 second mention and is generally quite poorly reported. However the band disbanded in 1980 so that means that at a maximum they havn't played together for 27 years. However Page and Plant did tour together (last show 1998). if you count this as a Led Zep show (I don't as there are still surviving members missing) then it was 9 years ago.

Either way we know what I mean.
jupitreas - 14.09.2007 at 10:57
im 100% certain that this concert will suck big time btw (they already sucked back in the aforementioned page and plant shows in the 90s) but it would be nice to say "i saw led zeppelin live". Oh well, Alice Cooper is coming to these parts soon anyway, so Ill just go see him instead

Btw I saw the Page & Plant show in the 90s in Rotterdam, and lemme guarantee you that absolutely DIDN'T suck, it was great. Especially the addition of an Egyptian and Dutch orchestra worked brilliantly.
BrightNight - 14.09.2007 at 11:50
I did read that Led Zeppelin is to consider a world tour after this.

Can you give us, the other Metalstormers, a source?

If not, we'll just have to disregard what you said.

Uhh, charity gig? I severely doubt the band make that much money out of this-after all, their deal with Atlantic Records basically guaranteed the tidy little nest egg they have now...they don't need the money.

And I doubt that they'll do a reunion tour. After all, the only time they reunited before was for Live Aid, and after Phil Collins fucked up the drums for that set, they donated £2,000,000 to the cause in return for not having their set released.
catzz - 14.09.2007 at 19:50
This is gonna be interesting, cause they actually don't sell tickets. They are going to raffle all these tickets.

Ah, fair enough

BTW, wasn't trying to seem serious, although I am interested in news like this

Just entered my name into the ballot, doubtful of getting tickets due to the sheer number who have applied. Great if I can though as London's only an hour away!

125 pound is nothing for a show like this! Just imagine how manye people on this planet who would pay anything to see Zep live, i am definetly one of them, and i am not alone!
Tod_Engel - 20.09.2007 at 15:03
Damn, they should release it as a live DVD.
Manilla - 20.09.2007 at 23:59

MUSIC? - 21.09.2007 at 11:45
John Bonham's dead guys. Props to all who mentioned this important fact. Perhaps if Jimmy Page was a necromancer I'd pay that outrageous price. Assuming I'd find a way to London.

But ONLY if.
Ernis - 05.12.2007 at 22:14
I should be dying to see them if I'd pay the ticket money plus the plane tickets....

Plus what does this effin "by ballot" mean? That I pay the money and then they'll see if I'll be lucky to get the ticket at all?
