The 2008 Gigantour's lineup has been officially announced. According to Megadeth's website, the tour is scheduled to kick off mid-April and run through end of May with the lineup as follows:

Megadeth
In Flames
Children Of Bodom
Job For A Cowboy
High On Fire

Tour dates to be revealed soon.

Dave Mustaine has posted the following:
"The breaking news is we are going to have five bands this year, instead of eight. The decision to drop it down from eight bands to five was based on timing, set lengths, stage sizes, unions, and most importantly allowing 'us' - the musicians - to deliver to 'you' - the fans - the best shows we can."

BurbotsRevenge - 02.01.2008 at 00:49
not a bad lineup, cant wait to see the tour dates though
Warman - 02.01.2008 at 02:52
Ohh, really cool. They can skip Job For A Cowboy though.
LeChron James - 02.01.2008 at 04:08
job for a cowboy is NOT music.
4look4rd - 02.01.2008 at 04:53
Job for a Cowboy makes drone doom sound like a symphony
Samuel - 02.01.2008 at 06:05
Job For a Cowboy went from hella scene crappy metalcore

to some pretty decent death metal

I like a few of their newest songs and i think they are a rather promising band
4look4rd - 02.01.2008 at 06:38
I only heard their demo, and saw one of their videos... And it didnt interest me at all, so I didnt bother to get their album
Carrion - 02.01.2008 at 08:50
COB and In Flames are popular, both were in the Unholy Alliance's Europe-lineup as well.. Not that interesting, I have seen the first three, and Job For A Cowboy and High On Fire don't really interest me.
Sepulchre - 02.01.2008 at 10:06
This sounds awesome, I love In Flames, Children Of Bodom, and Job For A Cowboy. I hope they come to my area!

Shit sucks
Katatronik - 02.01.2008 at 15:10
Very interesting lineup IMO... I hope to see them!
Spyroid - 02.01.2008 at 16:06
Worst lineup so far, I remember when they had opeth, dream theater and into eternity (that was the same year, right?)
Abattoir - 02.01.2008 at 16:59
Great bands, first 3...I hope they will come somewhere near to our little country...
White Winter Sun - 02.01.2008 at 18:39
Not really excited by this lineup ...

@WWS wrong quote man
Marcus - 03.01.2008 at 01:32
Previous lineups were much better than this, '06 was great.
Arian Totalis - 04.01.2008 at 16:07
I like the lineup, save for JFAC. I hope they come close enough to home to where I can see them.
BloodEagle - 04.01.2008 at 21:46
Definetly worth seeing, especially Children of Bodom and In Flames

Needs more Nevermore.

Spite Megadeth has nothing to do with the other bands it's an amazing line-up.

Worst lineup so far. Not to say its a bad lineup, though. I'll probably be there for Megadeth and In Flames, even though In Flames has lost their spark after Colony or Clayman. I think watching CoB is like watching Dragonforce, and JFAC is just stupid myspace-core band that doesn't know dildos from talent.

I only see people mentioning the first four bands, why doesn't anyone give a damn about High On Fire? They are the best band on the billing after all.

There 1 of the 3 bands Id go for, Megadeth and CoB, the other 2 bands I couldnt give 2 shits about. And Ive already seen Megadeth so Id be mainly going for HoF and CoB.
caffeinehead - 07.01.2008 at 07:37
In '06, Gigantour had three dates within driving distance of me- I can only hope the same is repeated this year.

Having seen Children of Bodom, I would definitely see them again. Although they are mostly sellouts, they put on a fantastic and fun show. I've never seen Megadeth and I've never seen In Flames, and I'm afraid that In Flames live would not include their old work, which is definitely better than their latest releases (On that note, I'm afraid that their new album is going to be shit, as they are using the same producer from Come Clarity...).

JFAC can suck a big one. And I don't know High on Fire well enough to pass judgement.
DoomGuard - 15.01.2008 at 05:30
I'm skeptical about In Flames cuz they have gay clean vocals...

JFAC is good, Megadeth amazing, CoB amazing n i need to check on High On Fire

Somebody Knows The Setlist For The "Megadeth:Tour Of Duty"?

This tour only starts in a few days. So no.
Megadeth setlists are quite easy to find actually. You only need a login for the Megadeth forums and you should be fine.

Somebody knows the setlist from the Megadeth: Tour Of Duty?

Go to http://www.megadeth.com/killingroad.php, click "Reviews / Setlist" and then create an account for the Megadeth forum. Normally you should be able to find it from there.

This is what I found on the net for the Chilean date (31.05):

Sleepwalker
Wake Up Dead
Take No Prisoners
Skin O' My Teeth
Washington Is Next!
Kick the Chair
In My Darkest Hour
Hangar 18
Burnt Ice
A Tout Le Monde
Tornado of Souls
Ashes In Your Mouth
Gears Of War
Sweating Bullets
Symphony of Destruction
Trust
She Wolf
Peace Sells
Mechanix
Holy Wars
