Finnish metal band Norther parts ways with long time singer/guitarist Petri Lindroos. Norther was forced to let Petri go to be able to continue. Petri´s full time engagement in Ensiferum increasingly prevented Norther from functioning as an active band.
Petri wishes Norther all the best for the future. Current Norther crew, Kristian, Jukka, Tuomas and Heikki, wants to thank Petri for all these great years together and wishes him the best of luck with Ensiferum.
Additional information concerning the recruitment of a new singer will be provided soon.

Norther part ways with singer?... it sounds a bit weird for me. Petri was the heart of Norther!
It was the worst news I've read since Jani's quit from Sonata.
But let's see the good side of these all:
- Norther was in downhill (N is a shit) so it's better that Petri left the band now than for example if he would quit after the 3rd album, isn't it?
- Now as he left Norther he can concentrate on Ensiferum. I expect new Ensiferum albums more frequently in the future. And tours, of course! |

Honestly, I'm not really that surprised. I, for myself, think that Petri better suites Ensiferum than Norther. For the last 2 albums of Norther, it's been pretty week, nothing special, nothing extraordinary, it was going down quickly. When I listened to "N", I was bored out of my fucking mind. Though, when I saw Ensiferum live a couple of months ago when they came with Amon Amarth, I was headbanging the shit out of myself.
I really like what he did though on the first albums of Norther, it was good, but still, ain't good enough to continue it. They lost it as a band, I ain't giving them a year and they will be done. Unless they find, by some kind of miracle, a new singer that is going to bring magic to the band, but still....miracles rarely happen.
May Ensiferum live forever, cuze DAMN I wanna see those guys again live, they were fucking awesome. |

| Petri's mediocrity has turned into metal gold by the fellas over with Ensiferum. Let's face it, Norther just isn't very good any more. Especially their last two albums, I have not once regretted the purchase of an album more than I did after I popped in N (and I bought Death Magnetic). |
