These two albums are both legendary Bay Area thrash albums. Kill 'Em All was released in 83 and kick-started the movement. The influence of the album is undeniable. Bonded By Blood was released in 85, a year after it was recorded, due to complications with their record label. If it were released right after it was recorded, it may have had just as big an impact as Kill 'Em All. Both albums boast excellent songwriting and amazing musicianship. If I had to choose between them, I would pick Bonded without a doubt. It seems to have more energy IMO and the riff for the title track is better than anything found on KEA. If you had to choose one, which would you choose?

Bonded by Blood (the original One) is by far the superior album. Bonded by Blood is my favorite beginning album from any American Thrash band for that matter. Kill Em' All is mediocre at best. Even when I was younger and a fan of Metallica I still didn't like that album that much besides a few tracks.

Read the frigging poll and first post properly.

It is NOT Metallica vs Exodus.

It is Bonded By Blood vs Kill 'em All

So Toxic Waltz has NOTHING to do with it. Keep irrelevant stuff out of the discussion.
And you say you like the first album by Exodus... well, guess what Bonded By Blood is the first album by Exodus.
So you CAN vote for Bonded By Blood.

Btw this is a hard poll for me. I think I would vote for Bonded By Blood had it been released at the same time as Kill 'em All but since Kill 'em All is more or less the start of the thrash movement as we know it I am going for KeA because of its historical relevance.
However, both albums still regularely spin its rounds on my record player and in my cd player.

"Bounded by Blood" is the best Exodus' album and one of the best thrash albums ever (that I've heard). Pummelling riffs, Baloff's vocals that are full of power and aggression (fun fact: Baloff has 98 balls... and they're all poisonous) and consistently good songwriting are just few of the reasons why to put this album above many. And it all comes off as better-than-the-sum-of-its-parts; which is a criteria I place great value upon.

"Kill 'em All", while the best thing from Metallica somehow just doesn't work for me (not relevant, but in general I find Metallica to be pretty bad band in my book just for that reason). On the paper it sounds good - speed metal with many thrash moments and a good dose of NWOBHM inside too - but something is wrong there, there is no synergy...

I'm gonna go with Kill 'Em All because it holds a special place in my heart...killer songs from beginning to end...I find that Bonded By Blood is a little thin in places and I don't like the vocals of Paul Baloff

Especially for answering in this thread I listened to Bonded by Blood a couple of times to vote objectively and my opinion is it's no match to Kill 'Em All in anything at all. It's really not an exciting listen. I remember a few good moments, but man, Kill 'Em All is wholly a good moment.

I predict Kill 'Em All winning this one, but my vote goes to Bonded By Blood. It's just so damn evil and I prefer the harsher vocals. Hetfields vocals are crap overall and are at their worst on the debut.

"Bonded By Blood" is just a classic of thrash.. well both are of course, but Exodus have always had the edge when it comes to thrash over most other bands for me. "Bonded By Blood" is no change there, it just has more intensity and thrash in it than the first Metallica album.

I'm not saying that ''Bonded By Blood'' isn't good, but I seriously prefer Metallica's debut. ''Kill Em All'' was an incredible album and every song rocks. I loved Bonded also... but I guess its just a matter of tastes So Yeah I'm going for Kill Em All.

But IMO Both album are great and Exodus did a good work on Bonded.

Both of these albums are classic thrash albums and carry a deserved reputation with them. For me though Kill 'em All is a rather classy debut album a knotch or two above Bonded By Blood which is in comparison quite raw, and perhaps a little under-done. Although thoughs qualities could easily be seen as strengths as well, so I imagine this will be a closer battle than some might think.

Kill 'Em All was the first metal record I got... So I chose that one. Of course the old Bonded By Blood has more spirit than the re-recording but I like the new version better (do not verbally assassinate me please...).

I think this was the only time I've ever voted for Metallica Bonded by Blood is great, but I was actually obsessed with KEM for a while, while I only play BBB occasionally. I get more energy from KEM and I absolutely love the instrumental song.

Kill Em All isn't as good as Bonded by Blood. Kill Em All has some really boring and filler-ish songs where as Bonded by Blood has zero skippable tracks.

I love both albums very much, so its difficult for me to decide. I love "Bonded By Blood" for it's sheer intensity and mania, and I love Metallica for showing a mastery of thrash mixed with melody even at such an early stage in their careers. Such great musicianship! In the end, I think I just come down on the side of "Kill Em All" seeing as that album has no weak moments at all, while "Bonded By Blood" contains one track which isnt awesome. lol

That track would be "Metal Command". Strangely enough, though I largely found the re-record of the debut ("Let There Be Blood") to be inferior to the original, I preffered that particular song in the re-recorded version. hehe xD

I realized I dont even listen to kill 'em All anymore but I still rock Bonded By Blood all the time... and with more maturity now (I mean musically) I find Bonded to be way better and more complete... more extreme also which is always good. Anyways scratch one vote.. BONDED WINS
