Forget about the ORIGINAL big four of thrash. There are tons of amazing thrash bands from the US who are on level with the big four.
My new big four:
Exodus, Testament, Overkill, Death Angel

Yo. This one offers more opportunity for discussion too, considering it isn't limited to only US bands.
PS: If you're going to pick a new big four, why not actually pick new bands? Exodus, Testament, Overkill and Death Angel have all been around the block for quite some time.

Exactly my point; those bands were around in the time of the big four and they didnt make it in the 'big four' (although i think one or two of'em should've been big) so, a "second big four" could be new bands; i 'd go for: Havok, Onslaught, Warpath, Gama Bomb.

Exactly, and the big four of 'New' bands has been done too.
EDIT: Oh, and it's a pretty pointless subject.

Testament, Exodus, Kreator, Sodom.
Kreator and Sodom, along with Destruction, are already part of an esteemed group of Thrash Metal known as the Teutonic Trio (At least to me) and are therefore disqualified for nomination.
Besides, they're German. Not US.

Yea sorry this is an overdone topic on many metal forums. Have to agree as well that a "new big four" should include new bands not bands that didn't make the cut on the first go around of "The Big Four". However I have always felt it should've been "The Big Five" (Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax and Testament) but that's neither here nor there, lol. Maybe I'll make a new thread about it, anybody know if that's been done already? Haha...

What about Warbringer? I think they're worth a mention here.

If its not trolling then its pure genius (sarcasm) or simply someone not too informed on band's origins lol
