Anyone here a fan of them? In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is probably my favorite non-metal album. It's just perfectly genius.

I think I tried listening to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea because it's so ridiculously praised everywhere as a modern masterpiece, but it did nothing for me. Just don't have the capacity for that kind of music. I imagine Boxcar_Billy would dig it though.

You rang?

Well I've never heard of these guys, so I have no idea what they play, but I'll check them out anyway.

I too was inspired to check it out after the impossible levels of praise it was getting.
I though there would be no way it could deserve all that hype, but darned if it didn't come close.

The lyrics are...interesting, but the music is beyond infectious. One of those albums you can't just listen to one song from.

It's OK, but I never "got" it. Some people absolutely hate it for the lo-fi sound and off-key singing, but that doesn't bother me one bit. I just don't think it stands out as a particularly good album in the genre. Two-Headed Boy is very catchy, though.

off-key singing

Yeah, that's what I wasn't a fan of. Got really annoying.

Yeah, that's what I wasn't a fan of. Got really annoying.

It annoyed me at first, but after awhile it just seemed like normal singing to me.
