Brilliant drumming. Paul Bostaph makes me not miss Dave Lombardo at all.

That was even worse than I was expecting. Can't exactly say I follow Slayer at all, but damn. Really amateurish, 14-year old's first thrash (if you can call it thrash) song in every way. And awful production to boot.

Technically, they were everyone's first thrash along with a few other bands... Why people expect such old bands to break new boundaries is beyond me. It's Slayer.

I meant the sort of song a 14 year old would come up with the first time they picked up a guitar. I didn't say anything about breaking boundaries. Just something with a modicum of energy, passion or vague interest would probably get Slayer through. This song has none of that. Neither does the other track, which I just listened to. I find it equally beyond me how anyone could excuse Slayer for.... this.

Boring....

If you don't like Slayer why are you commenting? I respect everyone's opinion to an extent. It's like this. I do not like Carcass at all but you will never see me commenting on a Carcass related video or review. I personally have listened to Slayer for over 20 years of my life and they are my favorite band. This isn't their best work, but their glory days can never be out done IMO. This song kicks ass to this Slayer fan and I'll be buying this album day 1, just like every other Slayer album.

You can express your opinions freely. But do you have to offend other people in the process?
FYI: I think this track is average.

Only if you expect Slayer to release something as glorious as their 80's albums. That's never going to happen, so don't whet your appetite too much.

Exactly.

Why people so pumped on average track released by Slayer? They're venting out like as bashing Slayer gives them a good attention.

It's pretty ok if Slayer released amateurish track which doesn't suit your taste. Take as what it comes.

Never know whole album drop on your head like a fucking tanker.

Ok. I'm not sure I'm going to get this album, first Slayer album I think I'm going to completely pass on. None of the released tracks have anything interesting going on. Lack of energy or danger or really anything. Definitely need another songwriter in the band to mix things up a bit. I wish them the best.

Extremely weak song.

I don't know if Slayer has really done some research as how they should come up with a new record or they just sat down in studio and start hitting random notes and fill the new tracks.

Do they know that new thrash bands are coming up with superb releases and better songwriting? Or they still lost in glorious days of "THRASH IS SLAAAAYER!".

Not gonna ignore to new record though.

Nope, I dont, I like Christ Illusion , and even World Painted Blood was good to some extent.. But this album songs, so far, feel below the "Slayer" average.

You mean new thrash bands are coming up with third rate Exodus/Kreator clone releases and tedious song writing that would've been regarded as third rate in the 1980s and generally completely unmemorable?

There's only a handful of bands doing anything interesting with thrash and most of them are old ala Testament and Death Angel. The last remotely interesting thing I've heard from a new thrash band was the awesome King Parrot and that has as much grindcore in it as thrash and large dollops of death metal and hardcore plus most of the members have been playing metal since the 1990s so not exactly new!

As a genre, thrash is mostly artistically bankrupt these days. Even speed metal is doing more interesting things with bands like Enforcer and Midnight.

Even at their worst Slayer at least sound unique unlike the aforementioned Exodus/Kreator clones.

Spot on. There are almost zero new thrash bands that are listenable. Slayer, even at their weakest, are vastly superior.

Even for a fan like me it sound quite average. I don't expect them to reach their classic albums at all, it's impossible even for themselves, but at least I hope they're releasing something worth listening. We'll what the full album brings, for now I'm very doubtful.
