Sonata Arctica - Share New Song And Lyric Video

Sonata Arctica have launched a lyric video for "The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me", the song taken off their upcoming Acoustic Adventures - Volume One album. Due out on January 21st, 2022 via Atomic Fire.

States keyboardist Henrik "Henkka" Klingenberg: "The Rest Of The Sun Belongs To Me" was a song that first appeared as a bonus track for Japan back in 2003, just around the time I joined the band. When we started to arrange songs for the second 'Acoustic Adventures' tour in 2019, this song somehow kept popping up and we decided to give it a go. Our dear friend Masi Hukari who joined us on stage for the tour did a lot of the work on this particular arrangement and I think that his input was really important in how this song turned out. For this record, we used the live arrangement as a starting point and I don't think the song changed that much, so what you hear is a slightly refined version of the 2019 tour arrangement. We decided to use this song as the first single since it's really different from the original studio version and as always, we prefer to offer something new and interesting for our fans and for ourselves as well."

This is a rather pleasant release. Maybe there's hope at the end of the tunnel, after all.

This band is so lame these days. The original version is so much better.

Agree, the original was so powerful, and I'm not only meaning because it had distortion, double bass drumming and so on, it was full of energy while this version meh

If they're gonna dedicate so much time to making acoustic albums, I'd prefer for them to do some originals instead.
I lift weights and listen to metal

I've never been able to get behind acoustic covers of metal songs. Rarely are they worth listening to. Just write new material instead if you insist on doing acoustic.

For me there are couple of wonderful songs Sonata Arctica created in the past decade (Larger Than Life, White Pearl, Black Oceans Part II), but overall I feel they gave up their awesome power metal style and turned into mediocre "melancholic" poppy band and I don't quite understand that...
My rest seems now calm and deep
Finally I got my dead man sleep
