Epica - Launch New Song & Video

Symphonic metal frontrunners Epica are premiering a Dave Letelier-directed music video for "T.I.M.E.", the third advance single off their upcoming record, Aspiral, which will see the light of day on April 11th.

Mark Jansen comments on the new song: "T.I.M.E. stands for 'Transformation, Integration, Metamorphosis, Evolution,' and it deals with the art of dying, and more specifically, the death of the ego. It gives us the opportunity for growth and spiritual transformation. The song has a Tim Burton-like dark fantasy vibe."

This is awful. The guitar in the verse sounds like something you’d play to warm up on a very lazy day. The soundscape is powerful due to quality production, but with bands as big as Epica, that is a given. This does not excuse the subpar songwriting.

Dull song and very uninspiring, they play the same over and over again for last 5-6 years.

Kinda disappointed in all the songs so far, even if this one has some slight charm. I hugely enjoy their last two albums, can't say I'm very much looking forward to this one anymore.
