About two weeks after it was announced that new music from Sepultura had been recorded, guitarist Andreas Kisser has confirmed that the band will release their long-awaited new EP in 2026 which will coincide with the end of their farewell tour. The EP will mark Sepultura's debut with new drummer Greyson Nekrutman, who replaced longtime drummer Eloy Casagrande last year.

In an interview with Jarek Szubrycht as part of 'Mystic Talks' at this year's Mystic Festival in Gdańsk, Poland, Kisser said: "We recorded four new songs with Greyson on drums. I don't think nobody knows that, but there we go. We have four new songs, and we have the intention, next year, to release an EP, just to celebrate this momentum. It's original songs that we worked [out]. It's already recorded and everything, and we're taking our time, really, to see where it's gonna be the good time to do it."

On how new music from Sepultura came about, he said: "It was very spontaneous. We had a situation that we played the 70000 Tons Of Metal [cruise in January 2025] and we stayed in Miami. 'We have this studio. We have a few ideas. Okay, let's do it.' [Laughs] And it was great. No pressure from labels, no due date. The songs [don't] even have [names] yet. [Laughs] But it's great… We did it in our time with no rush. There's no names [for the songs]. We can decide that later. We're still mixing the material — no rush. And it's great. Because of the farewell [tour] idea, we can do that as well, to plan something like that, or not plan something like that, plan as less that we can to really to challenge ourselves artistically to work something like that."

I think the first false exit was Judas Priest who announced a farewell tour like 15 years ago and are still around? Since it's worked so well, lots of other bands are following suit. I never believe a band who say goodbye and then plan a two year tour.

Yeah, i remember that. They announced that Nostradamus will be their last album, and still we have them around the world. Then, Slayer with their farewell tour (how many years since the announcement were they having concerts? I'm not sure). Also, Ministry announced that "The Last Sucker" album will be their last and they are releasing album today.
So this is only a marketing movement to have a bit of money.
In some cases they fullfill their word. Let see if this is the case.

Scorpions also did a final/farewell tour years ago, and I don't know if money has to do with it, but they've since stayed active and they're still releasing new music.

Don't forget Kiss. As far as I can remember the first time they hinted a farewell was around 1999.

Kiss, Priest, The Who, Manowar, Mötley Crue, Slayer, Ozzy, NIN, Scorpions...probably a few others in there I'm forgetting

I kind of believe it with Sepultura though, which will probably mean im completely wrong!
I've heard a lot of people who think they'll get back with Max in a few years, but I really don't think the rest of the band would want to have anything to do with Gloria

From what I've read, Andreas has been saying that he wants to do at least one more show with Max and Igor as Sepultura but Max doesn't seem to be interested in a reunion anymore as both him and Igor view Cavalera Conspiracy or just Cavalera as their "reunion". With that said, Gloria probably doesn't want anything to do with Andreas either.
