I'm yet to hear such massive crescendos and progressions as The Flames Beyond Cold Mountain or my personal favorite, Moonlight. Many BM bands would kill to achieve the inmense wall of sound in tracks like the first one. Some of the latest "blackgaze" and similar movements could take a look at this stuff.

Posts: 2800 Written by X-Ray Rod on 07.01.2012 at 16:23 It is really funny you should quote this now since I've been on a massive Mono crush in the last couple of days, listening to their 2009 release and this  that BM remark is 100% true and I've always thought that this has some moments when it is almost Blackgaze, the build-ups and the climaxes share a very similar approach with the aforementioned, actually it's the other way around
