Nine Inch Nails - To Release New EP

Nine Inch Nails have confirmed that fans will be able to hear new music from the band this year. Last year, mastermind Trent Reznor promised that new Nine Inch Nails music would be released in 2016 and it's now official. Not The Actual Events, their new 5 song EP, will be released next Friday, December 23rd. After a few years of silence, fans now have something to look forward to.

The EP finds Reznor and now official bandmate Atticus Ross taking an unexpected left turn from 2013's Hesitation Marks and "sounding unrecognizable from their current film work."

"It's an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make," says Reznor. "It's an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story."

Not The Actual Events is self-released and will be available on all digital platforms. The NIN store is offering two formats available for pre-order now: 180g 1-sided vinyl, and a unique limited digital plus physical component version.

Tracks:

01. Branches/Bones
02. Dear World
03. She's Gone Away
04. The Idea Of You
05. Burning Bright (Field On Fire)

Nine Inch Nails is also releasing The Fragile: Deviations 1 limited edition 4X vinyl. This unique version of the band's classic record was created by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross and features 37 instrumental, alternate and unreleased tracks, many of which have never been heard before anywhere.

With all respect - I don't get all that hype about NIN. It's not that I don't like it (I even enjoy some of the songs) but now? Kinda overrated.

That's also my reaction whenever those big four/five/six thrash bands release something new.

The worst thing is when they don't know when to stop.

China was a neat
There is absolutely no hype at all with NIN these days. Everyone knows their best days are far behind them. Anyway his 2013 album sucked big huge hairy ass balls and that other album with his wife that same year was fairly better than that so yeah I might just pass this.
