One of the few bands from my area that has some international renown. You'd think that with Houston, TX being the 5th largest city in the USA (last time I checked but has been a few years) that there might be a lot more big name bands coming from here. We do have a huge metal scene, but they're all mostly "local-only heroes".

It's quite funny that you mention Cosmic Atrophy, I checked them out a couple of years ago when Lucas wrote his review of the album, at that moment I found it good, but somehow, it remained under my radar, then, a couple of weeks ago (maybe less), a friend of mine posted it on Facebook, so I re-listened to the album and found it better than the first time I listened to it, I think that's why I enjoyed Chthe'ilist, because I was searching for this kind of Demilich-esque sound in other bands.

And yeah, you have to ignore the user score, I'd rather go for Lucas's review and score.

I'll be damned if that's not the most annoying band name album name combo out there. It'd be a pain in the ass to even try to recommend this to someone in real life.

Snapped this one up on tape recently. it's a deliciously brutal take on the convoluted spheres of Demilichian death metal. best eight bucks ever spent.

Never knew vomiting onomatopoeias make for such cool song titles.

The third track has the absolute best build-up to a guitar solo I can think of. The solo itself is incredible as well.
