This is where the band took off for real in the writing and performance department, it's not far of from Vanden Plas or Savatage but still feeling very unique. The band weaves smartly written song structures and melodies into a mesmerizing album that is both beautiful and suggestive. Could be a coincidence but on the japanese bonus track (Ready For Take-Off) there's a melody that sounds a lot like like a melody Savatage would use on their coming album Wake of Magellan on the song The Hourglass. Jon Oliva would guest Rough Silk on a later album so it's not far-fetched that maybe they got a bit of influence by these guys. This is a real forgotten gem and I highly recommended it to anyone into european power metal.
