It's an alright meloblack album nothing particularly special, although "Verlies & Verval" seems to be a stand out track above all. The vocals, guitar tone, and riffing style all remind me somewhat of Melechesh only without the impressive songwriting.

I feel the same, it took until the last few tracks to hear one that stood out.

Good album, keeps up with the previous one. If you like bands like Dimmu Borgir in the late 90s-00s at least.

Awesome artwork by the way.

I like the melodic parts on this album but it gets too aggressive way too often. Vocals remind me of Thyrfing which is not my thing but wasn't all that bad. In the end I was a bit exhausted but the bonus cover song helped some. Album cover looks nice indeed.

I like the melodic parts on this album but it gets too aggressive way too often.

Do you not usually listen to black metal? Asking because I actually have the opposite issue with this album -- it breaks too often, interrupting the flow only to restart with even less energy than before.

Even the blast beats are moderately paced, interspersed between chanting segments and what feel like forced attempts at sounding "epic" to me.

I listen black metal a lot but I usually prefer much more atmospheric stuff. Aggressive black metal isn't really my thing.

Despite being relatively unknown, Walg is one of the most consistent Black Metal artists right now in my opinion. 3 years, 3 albums. All of them high quality.
