Thrash metal is one of those subgenres that I prefer as subsubgenre...as a flourish or a occasional digression from the core sound. Then there's Venus (read as Vektor v1.1), who pull off an elegant variety of thrash that encompasses both the extreme and the exquisite. We're talking vision-inducing, lush tonalities; chaotic riffage; grandiloquent songwriting. Considering this is their debut EP, I hope they their ambition remains unscathed in their journey to a debut album because I'm ready to lap up some more of this epic sound.

Sadly their debut didn't live up to this EP, but I'm still hopeful for their future releases.
