After Angels Fall First, people knew about Nightwish. After Oceanborn, they liked Nightwish. And after Wishmaster, they worshipped Nightwish. "No new album this year", Tuomas said. But to not leave the poor fans in endless torment, the divine beings of Nightwish decided to leave this little EP for everyone to play around with. Good thing then that it is far from a low quality one! For here we get no more than 4 perfect tracks, and always remember, those 4 perfect tracks is better than 9 mediocre ones (*cough* Angels Fall First*cough*) or 6 good ones (no example here though). In any case, these are the contents of this little intermission!

The Gary Moore cover is great, 10th Man Down is, in my opinion, a better song than most those that found their way into the "Century Child" album, a new nice version of one of my favourite songs from "Angels Fall First" and a usual slow number which is Away - all that makes this EP a worthwhile listen.

Nice EP, a true Nightwish fan cannot miss it. My favourite song besides the title track is Astral Romance, which is a great duet between Tarja and Tony Kakko. It's much better than the original version in Angels Fall First (with Tuomas' horrible vocals )

I like both versions, but the remake has alternate lyrics and lacks the original's "My tears wept upon promises undone" line so awesomely delivered by Tuomas.

That album had some pretty ridiculous lyrics, like:
"The moonwitch took me to a ride on a broomstick
Introduced me to her old friend Home Gnome
Told me to keep the sauna warm for him"
(Elvenpath)
and the whole 'Nymphomaniac Fantasia'

'Nymphomaniac Fantasia' is wtf lyrics + stolen riff from Running Wild...

"Hear the cats meowing in the temple" is one of the most random lyrical moments in Nightwish's catalogue. I still love Angels Fall First though. My 3rd favourite album of theirs.
And Over the Hills and Far Away is a very good EP. Their last release with their "old sound" - after this they went in another direction.
