The end drags on a bit, unfortunatly.

The few enjoyable moments in a couple of songs, the weak-ass vocals and the fucking unnecesary outro makes this album one of the most overrated DSBM albums out there. Why the fuck is this mediocre album regarded as a classic of the genre?

Don't know, maybe people have different tastes to you? Why the fuck do 20,0000 like ed sheran
Don't even know if it is regarded as a classic its just what some people who like it might say.
I myself really like this album and think the vocals are great, actually really amped to be having this album turn up in the mail soon.? do agree coma is a bit shit, but it can be ok when in a sleepy trance.

Sorrow and black metal melted together in a unique great way. Howls are very emotional and a great addition from my point of view. Tracks 2,3 and 4 are the album's spine. Woods of Desolation is not an experiment, it is Austere's mature sequel.

I can totally see why everyone raves about this, it's captivating. Gripped me from the moment the vocals in track 3 started to the last minute of Coma II.

It provides one of the best transitions in this epic album imo. Plus Just for a moment is a deep song.

Yes they drag it out a wee bit, especially towards the end of some tracks, but the whole rhythm and atmosphere is stunning, there's some great enchanting melodies and very good drumming too, and the title track just gives me goosebumps. The wailing shrieks are certainly an acquired taste, but they help create that agonizingly depressive sound.
I'm not sure if I prefer it overall to their latest release, but it's still mighty impressive.
