2012 saw a staggering number of bands unleash some pretty fantastic debuts? Atoma, Royal Thunder, Lurk, and The Great Old Ones. 2013 sees the trend continuing, courtesy of the Old Ones' LADLO label mates, Regarde Les Hommes Tomber and their self-titled debut.

Regarde Les Hommes Tomber are a post-black meets sludge band from, as the name might imply, France.

Pretty cool stuff. One of the metal musical fads at this moment is mixing post metal with black metal.

This first album is simply amazing! I've seen their show at the Hellfest, it was really awesome, a great moment. Can't wait another gig!

Who doesn't? It's one of the cornerstones of comedy videos.

But yeah, I love blackened sludge. This being not exception. I saw these guys live. They sounded amazing. Couldn't really see them because I was a bit late and was on the back...... And I'm short.

So you actually watched the men fall live.
You do understand that what's their name means right?

Of course I do. I usually search my stuff when I don't understand the language.

I remember getting into this guys at the time the whole black/sludge/hardcore/post-metal period exploded and I was heavily into it. I have not listened to their second album but I'm glad that I still really enjoy this album. It's not out of the ordinary but the songwriting and structure is impeccable for the genre and pretty on par with heavy-weights like for example Celeste and Amenra.

This is a great debut, its crushingly heavy and has a tremendous atmosphere, it's about on par with the release that followed imo.
