I didn't get to catch their last release? Any opinions for that?

Another two part album? This is definitely going to be great.
EDIT: Looking at the track lengths, seems like it should've been a single release. Don't know if it was label fuckery or their decision but I prefer longer releases. Fuck it anyway, new BTBAM is always good.

First impression: It's a much heavier continuation of Coma Ecliptic. It works pretty well, has some awkward points but also some of the best moments in the band's career. "Blot" is already one of my favorite BTBAM songs, and the other two long songs have some really great moments as well. Tommy does a great job here.
As much as I love it already, I hesitate to give it a 9 though. It's way too short, and I do not understand why they felt a need to split the album in half unless they're pulling a Parallax and the second half is significantly longer than the first. Even having another 5-10 minutes would have helped a lot. I'm just left unsatisfied.
EDIT: A few more listens in, my thoughts haven't changed much. If it were 10+ minutes longer then I would be singing praises about the album. It just feels really shitty finishing "Yellow Eyes" and then realizing that you're already over halfway done with the album. Going into "Blot" doesn't feel like a finale in the same way that going into "White Walls" does. Imagine if Colors ended at "Ants of the Sky", and that sums up the length and disappointment.
I will keep singing praises about "Blot" though. I actually can't stop listening to it. Send help.

Just listened to the "Millions" single, that was pretty fucking boring, I hope the rest of the album is better...

Their most generic album to date. Both the heavy harsh vocal parts and the clean parts are boring and the songwriting isn't that good either. Kinda bland overall. Would've preferred something in the vein of their last album more.

It good.
A bit short and a bit more focus on catchy stuff as far as I can tell, which is not the best direction for them imo, but it's still good from a first listen.

Were you expecting something bad?
I still haven't listened to the entire album though, so I can't say at this point

Wasn't expecting something bad, just thought it would be dull, so I got a nice little surprise when listening

Well I really enjoyed this. Really interesting album, which fits together so well despite lots of varying styles. The first half of Yellow Eyes is so cool, and Blot is pretty incredible, as has been mentioned above.
I don't mind the shorter length. BTBAM's music is definitely the kind of stuff that takes me a number of spins to really appreciate. I struggled to get through Coma Ecliptic in one sitting, whereas I've already listened to this in its entirety 10+ times, and so can actually appreciate it as a complete package.
