Biography

The PUMP story so far?
Founded in January 2002 by Marcus Jürgens and Ulli Hauff with this end in view to form the most badass German Rockband in years with Aki Reißmann and Achim Keller (ex-Sanvoisen, ex-Victory) completing the line-up and joining the band a few weeks later.

2002
Recording of the first two demo tracks with a well-known German producer, person who shall be nameless at this point.
First show of PUMP, supporting US-Superstars Dokken at the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg. Next two shows a week later supporting Canadian Hardrockers Harem Scarem in Frankfurt and Augsburg near Munich.
Countless single shows in and around Germany.

2003
Recording of first album "I" later termed "Against everyone's advice" with Producer Tommy Newton (Helloween, Victory, UFO, Gamma Ray and many more?).
Stefan Bürk joins PUMP as a permanent bass player after working with two or three temporary bass players at the time.
PUMP is part of the 20th anniversary at the Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg, Dec. 28, 2003: Partying and jamming with Ronnie Atkins and Michael Fast of Pretty Maids, Hammerfall, Helloween, Pink Cream 69, etc.
Countless shows in and around Germany.

2004
Release of "Against everyone's advice" through Black Attakk/Soulfood.

On Tour with Axel Rudi Pell (Kings & Queens tour 2004) and Thunderstone in Germany, Belgium, France and Switzerland.
Supporting Queensryche in Munich and Hamburg at personal invitation of Queensrych itself.
Countless shows from north to west, in and around Germany.

2005
Recording of "Breakdown to breakthrough" at Area 51 Studios Celle (Kreator, Guano Apes?),again teaming up with Producer Tommy Newton for a release via Metal Heaven/Soulfood.
First festival appearance at "United Forces Of Rock festival", Rockfabrik Ludwigsburg. Also on the bill: Casanova, Jaded Heart, Legs Diamond and Pride Of Lions.

2006
Release of "Breakdown to breakthrough" through Metal Heaven/Soulfood.

Countless shows in and around Germany AND Switzerland?with Vengeance among others.
Guitarist Ulli Hauff decided to leave PUMP for as yet unknown reasons.

2007
Shortly after Ulli's departure the band found a replacement in Stef Bertolla (ex-Symphorce).
Drummer Achim Keller left PUMP to join Victory.
Drummer Markus Kullmann joins PUMP.

2008
Markus Kullmann left PUMP to join Desperadoz and later on Voodoo circle.
Longtime bass player Stephan Bürk also decides to leave the band due to commitments of his self-employment.
New Drummer Andy Minich joins PUMP.
A couple of further auditions later, this time PUMP was lookin' for a new bassist, new bass player Michael Vetter (ex-Chinchilla) joins PUMP.
Recording of "Sonic Extasy" with Producer Uwe Lulis (Grave Digger, Rebellion, V8 Wankers and many more?) at Black Solaris Studios, Frankfurt, Germany.

2009
Mixing "Sonic Extasy" at Kohlekeller Studios Seeheim-Jugenheim (near Darmstadt) with Kai Stahlenberg.
Release of "Sonic Extasy" through Fastball Music/Sony Music.

H.E.A.T. Festival appearance, sharing the stage with Crazy Lixx, H.E.A.T. & China.
Countless shows in and around Germany and Switzerland of course.

2010
On Tour in Germany and Switzerland supporting legendary British Rockers "U.F.O", a couple of single shows supporting "House Of Lords" (USA).
Stef Bertolla and PUMP decided to part company.
New guitar player Selly joins PUMP after helping out on lead guitar, filling in for Stef, on several occasions while on tour with U.F.O. in 2009.
Again, countless shows in and around Germany and Switzerland.
Pump has been invited for a show at the Rock Of Ages Festival 2010 with Foreigner, Gotthard, D.A.D., Suzi Quattro, Golden Earring, Russ Ballard etc.
Re-Release of "Against everyone's advice" and "Breakdown to breakthrough" with unreleased bonus content through Fastball Music/Sony Music in Europe on November 25, 2009 and via JAMSYNC MUSIC/MVD Distribution on December 7, 2010
Release of "Sonic Extasy" through JAMSYNC MUSIC/MVD Distribution on December 7, 2010 for the US territory on the very same day.

2011
Starting with the songwriting for their new album "Waiting for the rapture", at about the same time PUMP started with the recordings of the first four songs with engineer and co-producer Axel Heckert (Brainstorm, Axel Rudi Pell, Symphorce and many more?) at Studio 22, Ludwigsburg Germany.
PUMP supporting Alice Cooper at EWS-Arena Göppingen.
Countless shows in and around Germany and Switzerland.
PUMP is hard at work recording its long-awaited follow-up to 2009′s "Sonic Extasy".

2012
PUMP signed an worldwide management deal with ROCK N GROWL MANAGEMENT.
PUMP are putting finishing touches on their new album, "Waiting for the rapture" for a planned late 2012 release. Re-arranging, re-recording and re-mixing on most of the songs, delays arising.

2013
Founding member and lead singer Marcus Jürgens has decided to leave PUMP after more than 10 rockin years. PUMP wishes Marcus all the best for his future musical career. Nonetheless .. THE PUMP TRAIN WILL KEEP ON ROLLIN!!!
PUMP have announced the addition of vocalist Oliver Weers (OLIVER WEERS BAND, RIPE, D.I.M) to the group's their ranks.
