Biography
The story started when two musicians were brought together by Ionut Ianos, who was seeking for people who share his passion for creating "music with meaning".
In October 2011, the core of the band was formed, consisting of Ionut Ianos, Cristian Lazar, Andrei Dinicu and Vlad Flavian Ionita. After this point, there was only a matter of time until we found the next dedicated persons to help us create band's first complete line-up: Daniel Sorescu and Adrian Petrica.
In the first months of its existence, Fjord faced a few line-up changes, but never stopped pursuing its path.
Therefore, after finding the right people, the band started working as one, and so the things followed their course.
From the very beginning, Fjord wanted to create "music with a meaning", that would express feelings, through composition and lyrics.
After the idea of recording a demo, the name of the band became Fjord (after a few previous names) and in August 2012 we started recording.
The three-song-demo is available under the title "Once Forsaken".
Unfortunately, after releasing the demo, Daniel Sorescu had to leave the band because of the lack of time due to professional reasons. Therefore, with our first shows within reach, we really had to find a guitar player that would complete the line-up . We soon found and co-opted Alin Nechita, a talented and dedicated person, that was searching for a band with post-rock influences. Touche!
2013 was a great year for us. We had our first concerts, always receiving positive feedbacks.
The wheel of luck goes round and round and in 2014 Fjord faced a really tough challenge. Andrei Dinicu, band's frontman, vocalist and one of the founders, announced his decision to leave town. We really appreciate all his efforts, not just his lyrical and vocal talent but also his involvement in Fjord's concept and image. After a really intense brainstorming, we reached the conclusion that it would be imposible to find someone that could replace Andrei, so we took the only possible decision: Fjord will go on as an instrumental band!
