Yeh, I'd like to see Def Leppard again.

Lol SP even has a lyric in the song "Death to All But Metal": "where is Def Leppard, Where is Motley Crue? Why do all my lyrics sound like Dr. Seuss?"

i guess it would be funny to watch one of the most obvious parody bands in the world open for the bands they are actually making fun of. kinda like if Spinal Tap opened for The Who and Blue Oyster Cult, or Nanowar opened for Manowar (though i'm pretty sure this last one will never happen).

Got my ticket. Elbow my way to the front. Thats the advantage of being tall and having a shaved head. Everybody thinks you are an escaped mental patient and moves out of the way.

Saw Def Leppard and Motley Crue last night.

Mick Mars looks REALLY ill. He can barely move. Then got pissed off because he blew up his amp. Tommy Lee is one hell of a drummer. The rollercoaster drum kit was cool. Don't think all of the front row were expecting the buckets of blood though.

Got to the front for Def Leppard. They put on the usual polished performance. That was the best I have ever heard Joe sing. One track from Mirrorball (Undefeated), two from Andrenalize (Lets Get Rocked and Make Love Like A Man) all of Hysteria, one from Pyromania (Photograph) and three from High 'n' Dry (Let It Go, Switch 625 and Bringin' On The Heartbreak). Surprised so few from Pyromania.

Whatever sound crew Def Leppard use is so clear. Each time I have seen them they the sound quality is better than the other bands playing, including Whitesnake and Motley Crue.

Rich Smith, Drummer of Power Quest, has had a rant on his Facebook about this show as he went to it, saying it was obvious to him that all three bands were using backing tracks that took away a bit of the credibility of the performances.

What's your thoughts on this Shape, or anyone else who may have attended this?

Edit: He's since clarified that it isn't as bad as his original message could suggest, just that the use of backing tracks for backing Vocals sound a bit lifeless.

Only really noticed it on Def Leppard's set. Sound effects, not backing vocals. They played so much of Hysteria it was no surprise, as there are so many sound effects going on on that album. Not sure about the backing vocals though. Most of Def Leppard are good vocalists, so it didn't seem like much/if any pre-recording was in evidence.

Enjoy when you go. Don't go to close to the front during Motley Crue's set, they throw buckets of blood at the end.

Cheers will do. And Thanks for the warning about Motley, particularly as I usually do get as close to the front as I can!

No problem. If you want to see Steel Panther you have to be there as the doors open. I arrived only 25 minutes after the doors opened and only saw the last two songs.
