The masters of death/doom metal are back! Novembre will release their highly anticipated new album on April 1st via Peaceville Records. The title will be URSA which is an acronym for "Union des Republiques Socialistes Animales" (French translation of George Orwell's masterpiece novel "Animal Farm"). The cover art is done by Travis Smith. URSA was recorded at Blue Noise Studio, and PlayRec studio by Massimiliano, then mixed and mastered at Unisound Studios by Dan Swanö (Opeth, Katatonia, Bloodbath).
Almost 8 years have passed since we've seen Novembre releasing their last work, The Blue. Now the band is up and ready to record a new album as yet untitled, but scheduled to be released later this year via Peaceville Records. The album will be mixed by Dan Swano at Unisound Studio and it will feature 10 songs. You can expect more news to be revealed soon!
Italian death/doom metallers Novembre are mourning the death of their former bassist Fabio "Puccio" Vignati. He had left the band in 1999. The band didn't elaborate on the cause of his death and preferred to remember his time recording their debut album Wish I Could Dream It Again. R.I.P.
Italy's Novembre have a new bass player. The band announced the following on their MySpace blog:
"The tormented role of bass player is passed on to Valerio Di Lella, already the band's live sound engineer for years, and singer of Death Metal band Grimness. Novembre, who recently parted company with Luca Giovagnoli, are glad to officially welcome Valerio on board.
In Valerio's own words: "I'm so thrilled to join this band, as being always on the road with them as a soundguy had made me one of them anyways. Moreover, we totally share the same musical tastes and I'm so digging the new songs which are taking shape these days".
Indeed, the band's just started the writing sessions for their next studio album. It's way too early to say anything about it except for the unmistakeable Novembre's style which is always there and ain't gonna be altered.
Official press release from the Peaceville Records newsletter:
"Coming November 5th is the new studio album from Italy's atmospheric metal masters, Novembre. Entitled "The Blue", and undoubtedly the band's best work to date, it is an emotional journey of the highest order.
"Taken in tandem with last year's critically acclaimed Materia, The Blue looks set to raise their stock still further" - KERRANG!

Italian Doom/Death Metallers Novembre will be supporting Lacuna Coil, when they tour in Italy. Lacuna Coil will be visiting Italy as part of their extensive European tour. There will be two Italian dates, and Novembre will be appearing at both.
Dear Novembre Fans. Unfortunately, what you've read on the Forum is true. The release date for NOVEMBRE's fifth album 'MATERIA' has been postponed until April 2006. The reasons are purely technical (i.e. re-mastering, artwork changes, etc...) and have nothing to do with the 'health' of the band. The announced European Tour is delayed a little too but there is no reason to be worried - we will be coming to a venue near you soon enough! Anyway, the band want to thank the fans for expressing their concern and understandable disappointment. Just be a little more patient, we can assure you it will all be worth it.
