Vocalist Ville Laihiala of Sentenced and Poisonblack fame has launched a new band called S-Tool. He is joined in the Finland-based group by drummer Aksu Hanttu (Entwine), bassist Kimmo Hiltunen (Lullacry) and guitarist Sami Leppikangas. Good news for fans of Greek melodic death metallers Aetherian! The band is no longer unsigned and has joined the Lifeforce Records family. This also means new releases for the band, specifically their upcoming debut album. In 2015, the band released their debut EP, Tales Of Our Times, and in April 2016 released its first video clip for their new single "The Rain". Aetherian are currently working on new songs for their upcoming debut album, set to be released on Lifeforce Records in the summer of 2017.
Suomi metal band To/Die/For just announced their farewell. The Finnish band broke up after 17 years as a band, Cult being their last album, released last year. It will all be over and one of their last performances will be at the John Smith Festival in Laukaa, Finland.
Slayer and its label Nuclear Blast have teamed with comics publisher Dark Horse (Sin City, Hellboy) for a three-part title, the first of which, Slayer: Repentless, Vol. 1, will come out later this year. This is the thrash metal group's first foray into comic books. The plot takes inspiration from the revenge-themed videos they've made for "Repentless" and "You Against You," both of which share a story arc devised by director BJ McDonnell (Hatchet III).
Doom metal band from Finland Kypck, who sing in Russian, will bring us another Siberian Winter this upcoming September. Their new opus, and fourth in total, is entitled 3epo (Zero) and Kypck have started a Pledge campaign. You can order the album here. Furthermore, the cover has also been revealed.
German sludge/doom metallers Phantom Winter, featuring members of Omega Massif, are releasing a new album just one year after Cvlt. Titled Sundown Pleasures, the band's 2nd studio album album features artwork created by Hummelgrafik and it will be released on September 16th via Golden Antenna Records. Progressive metallers Seventh Wonder are finally releasing a live album! Welcome To Atlanta Live 2014 is hitting stores on September 23rd via Frontiers Music Srl. Now, you can see the CD/DVD tracklist and cover. This album aptly closes the first chapter of the band's history and works as a tasty appetizer for the new studio album planned for release in early 2017.
As you probably remember, Eluveitierecently lost three band members. Now, the band announced that they want to take some time to carefully look for new members and find the perfect new line-up. But at the same time, the group will play every single show already confirmed for this year. So, they recruited talented step-in session musicians to play all their upcoming shows this year. For a few selected dates, Eluveitie unveil even a fourth guest: Liv Kristine (ex-Leaves' Eyes, ex-Theatre Of Tragedy) will share the stage with them and sing classics like "A Rose For Epona".

Surely some of you still remember this excellent German atmospheric death/doom metal band from the early 90s. Well, here are some good news. After a very, very long hiatus since their last album, Diana Read Peace, released back in 1993, Dark Millennium are back and ready to finally bring you some new tunes. Indeed, the band recently reformed and they just finished the production of their, as of yet, untitled album. They have mixed and mastered the album, but decided to share a short album teaser. So, get ready for this upcoming blast from the past and stay tuned for more news in the near future.
You can now watch Mötley Crüe performing the hit "Girls, Girls, Girls" at what was their last ever show. The legendary band has released a video of their performance of "Girls, Girls, Girls" from their film "The End". Mötley Crüe completed their 35-year touring career as a band with a spectacular final concert at Staples Center in their hometown of Los Angeles. The movie was shown in U.S. cinemas last month and will eventually be released on DVD.
The experimental group Lotus Thief has signed with Prophecy Productions and will release its new album, Gramarye on the label. Originated by Botanist's drummer Otrebor and multi-instrumentalist/composer Bezaelith, the band takes its name from the Lotus-eaters in Homer's epic poem, "Odyssey". Lotus Thief released its first album, Rervm, in 2014 to strong fan and critical acclaim. Now, two years after that, they are set to release its second album this fall via Prophecy Productions.

Blind Guardian are preparing a special treat for their fans in North America. When they tour there this next September/October, the power metal band will perform their lauded 1995 album Imaginations From The Other Side live in its entirety. The album was released 20 years ago, so it seems like a good time to celebrate it.
Death/doom masters Officium Triste have been confirmed for the first edition of the 2-day doom metal festival Doom Over Gorinchem. They are among the first confirmed acts alongside Eye Of Solitude, Funeralium, Décembre Noir, Uur and Beyond Our Ruins. The Dutch festival will take place on February 25th and 26th next year at Stichting PoGo.
