Heavy MTL Festival 2015 - Slipknot, Korn, Mastodon And More Confirmed

This year's edition of Heavy Montréal is taking place in Montreal, Quebec, Canada from August 7th to August 9th at Parc Jean-Drapeau. The organizers have announced the line-up and it boasts a little bit for everyone and big names as Slipknot, Korn, Faith No More, Mastodon, Meshuggah, Arch Enemy and many, many more. Check out the line-up below and get ready for the summer heaviness. The festival passes are on sale on March 13th.

Alkaloid - Debut New Track

The German progressive metallers Alkaloid are about to unleash their debut album The Malkuth Grimoire on March 17th. This new band features former Obscura members Christian Münzner, Hannes Grossmann, current Obscura bassist Linus Klausenitzer as well as Morean (Dark Fortress) on vocals and guitarist Danny Tunker (Aborted). Tank - New Record Tracklist And Artwork Revealed

Irish hard rockers The Answer have just released their new record Raise A Little Hell in Europe. It will only drop on March 17th in the U.S. and Canada via Napalm Records. Nekrogoblikon - Releasing New Album, Debut First Song

Nekrogoblikon are back and they come bearing gifts, a new album that is! Their new offering will aptly be called Heavy Meta and is due out on June 2nd, 2015 via Mystery Box / Razor & Tie. Alice In Chains - To Embark On U.S. Tour

Alice In Chains has announced a headlining U.S. summer tour, set to kick off on July 17th at the Starlight Theatre at Pala Casino Spa & Resort in San Diego, California. Ticket pre-sales begin tomorrow (Tuesday, March 10th). Also, the band will donate two dollars for every pre-sold ticket to a fundraiser in memory of a fan, who recently passed away. Mike Portnoy - Drummer Apologizes For Hospital Rant

You could say that this was not a good weekend for Mike Portnoy. The drummer (ex-Dream Theater, Neal Morse, Transatlantic, The Winery Dogs) is facing some backlash after he slammed a U.K. hospital over the weekend. Porntoy has been touring with Neal Morse in Europe and was feeling ill right before their show at Islington Assembly Hall. He later took to his Facebook page to rant about the fact that he wasn't treated at the hospital and had to leave to be at the band's show that evening without receiving treatment. Meanwhile, Neal Morse has also released a statement regarding the incident. The drummer didn't provide details of his illness but managed to perform the show at the Islington Assembly Hall.

The Gentle Storm, which merges the talents of Arjen Lucassen (Ayreon, Star One, Guilt Machine) and Anneke van Giersbergen (The Gathering, Devin Townsend) just revealed the gentle version of the track 'Shores Of India" just now. The song will appear on the upcoming debut album The Diary that hits stores two weeks from now. Saor - New Line-Up Announced

Saor released the brilliant album Aura last year, which was among the nominees for Best Folk / Pagan / Viking Metal Album on Metal Storm Awards 2014, almost winning it. The Scottish band has now announced its new line-up. Bryan Hamilton will now be taking up drumming duties on future recordings and live performances. Martyn Moffat and Reni McDonald will both provide live guitars as well as helping out with the recording/technical side of things on future albums. Also, mastermind Andy Marshall has been working on a new album!

Burning Circle - Recording New EP

Serbian progressive metallers Burning Circle are about to embark on another journey and head into the studio to record a brand new EP called Aral Sea. This four-track EP will be produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Dragan Panjak during March/April, in Revolver Studio in Novi Sad, Serbia. The EP will be available worldwide in May.

Yonder Realm - Confirmed For Pocono Folk Metal Fest

Polish black metal force Outre have recently announced the exact release date for their forthcoming debut full-lenght album. Ghost Chants will officially see the light of day on April 14th, courtesy of Third Eye Temple/Godz Ov War Productions/Essential Purification Records. Mark your calendars, folks! Cain's Offering - New Album First Details Revealed

It's the return of power metallers Cain's Offering! While last year guitarist Jani Liimatainen confirmed that the group was working on new songs, now it's out in the open that their new opus will be called Stormcrow. The second Cain's Offering record will feature eleven songs with one bonus track and you can take a look at the cover art below as well. You will probably have to wait a bit longer to hear some new music, but you can watch below a clip from the new album vocal sessions (and fooling around).

Tribulation - To Tour Europe With Melechesh, Keep Of Kalessin
