Profane Omen - New Album Title Revealed, Trailer Online
Finnish metallers Profane Omen have set Destroy! as the title of their third album, due on September 28th via Spinefarm Records. A studio diary can be found at this location and a trailer for the album can be viewed over here.
Destroy! was produced by Ville Sorvali (Moonsorrow) and Mikko Herranen (Rust) and was recorded in part at Petrax studios in Hollola, Finland. The effort was mastered at Chartmakers in Helsinki.

The passionate metal quartet around vocalist Hell Hofer and guitarist Hampus Klang will be part of the big Nuclear Blast family from now on! With three successful albums - of which two could even get rank 3 in Swedish charts - and numerous tours, for example together with their fellow countrymen of HammerFall and Sabaton in 2009, the gunslingers were able to achieve a wide and solid fanbase. Progressive melodic death metal outfit Cipher System release another song of the upcoming Nuclear Blast debut Communicate The Storms for streaming. "Forget To Forgive" is available from now on as a foretaste of the band's precise art of composing at this location.
Just like an enormous clockwork, the perfectly sophisticated songs of the Swedish sextet dictate the rhythm for the modern Melodic Death Metal scene. Cipher System give a live-cell therapy to the long-serving Gothenburg Metal and put a new, zeitgeisty complexion on it, with their electrifying keyboard passages and brutal thunderstorms of guitar riffing intertwining paradigmatically. Whoever likes progressive Melodic Death Metal sure will love Cipher System!

Arkona - To Tour Canada
Russian pagan metallers Arkona will set sails to Canada for a tour, dubbed Vinland Saga: Canadian Tour 2011, by the start of November. Dates for the tour can be seen after the jump.

The Wretched End - To Record New Album

The Wretched End, formed in 2008 as creative collaboration between Samoth (Emperor/Zyklon) and Cosmo (Mindgrinder), are currently heading into Strand Studio, Oslo, to record the drumtracks for the follow up to last years debut album Ominous. Once again it is Swedish skinbasher Nils Fjellström (aka Dominator from Dark Funeral, Aeon and In Battle) who's behind the kit.
The new album is tentatively entitled Inroads and confirmed song titles include: "Death By Nature", "Cold Iron Soul", "Blackthorn Winter", "Fear Propaganda", "Hunger", "Throne Renowned Of Old", "Tyrant Of The Mountain", "Deathtopian Society" and "The Haunting Ground".
The album recording is scheduled to be completed by the end 2011 and is tentatively scheduled for release in the first half of 2012 through Nocturnal Art Productions/ Candlelight Records.

The record will be released by Candlelight Records, release date will be announced later. The yet-untitled album will open a new chapter in the life of the band musically. Rhapsody Of Fire - Members Go Separate Ways

After 15 years of friendship, hard work and big passion, fully invested in the creation of symphonic music and an epic saga that will remain in the history of heavy metal, Alex Staropoli and Luca Turilli decided to proceed to a friendly split. "10 albums released and the end of the saga represent, musically and lyrically, an important artistic goal finally reached, underlined by the success of our last release From Chaos To Eternity, for which we want to thank our wonderful fans once again. Now it came the time when new artistic stimulations need to be found, in respect of both parts' visions and perspectives and of our longtime friendship" say Luca and Alex. Due to the latest legal agreements actually in force, Alex Staropoli will go on with Rhapsody Of Fire having, between the others, Fabio Lione as singer, Tom Hess as guitar player and Alex Holzwarth as drummer. For the same agreements and the original name's common ownership, Luca Turilli will release his future works with a new Rhapsody band, including the faithful band members Dominique Leurquin, Patrice Guers and Alex Holzwarth.
Alex says: "While wishing the best to Luca and his new band, I want to tell you that Fabio and myself feel motivated and stronger than ever and that Rhapsody Of Fire are already planning a great worldwide tour. More information regarding the new bass player and the new second guitar player will follow. Stay tuned!"

The singer has announced her participation in a new project named Harus.

"There is an old Finnish tradition when it comes to newborns - the baby is not to be named until the baptism ceremony, when he or she is presented to the family with the chosen name.
A few years ago, in 2006, a new project from Tarja was born and, following the same tradition, the time has come to baptize it, to make the presentations to the family and to give it a name - Harus.

American blackened crust/sludge scumbag metal band Wolvhammer, have completed work on their follow-up to last year's Black Marketeers Of WWIII debut, entitled The Obsidian Plains.

With already a decent pedigree within the U.S. underground black metal scene that involves such likeminded heathens as Nachtmystium, Cobalt, Ludicra (RIP), Withered etc. Wolvhammer are set to elevate their pillaging to a whole new level with The Obsidian Plains.
Known for combining such genres as black metal (of the Darkthrone, Craft, old Celtic Frost/Hellhammer vibe), punk, crust, doom and epic blackened-like sludge, with The Obsidian Plains (which was produced and recorded by Sanford Parker) Wolvhammer are going to make an impact with the subtlety of a vicious sledgehammer blow to the head. An album much more epic, crushing, and overall more encompassing than their debut. With several shifts in the band's line-up since their inception, the band look to make even more of a statement with their latest solidified lineup, which now includes ex-Nachtmystium guitarist Jeff Wilson.
